Is an FRN model in the plan or are you just hoping for one? I believe I'd like the FRN better also. Hopefully it would lower the price some as well. I know it will be a nice small knife but I was a little surprised at the price when the catalog supplement came out.phillipsted wrote:I'm waiting on the non-bolstered FRN Manbug. Talk about a lightweight powerhouse!

I just wish it was going to have smooth bolsters.

Well, based on the prototype photos Wouter posted here, we're both right. Two were shown, one had smooth bolsters, one had an exposed pivot screw. For some reason, I only remembered the ugly one.mikerestivo wrote:Paul - I don't understand - aren't the bolsters smooth on the Manbug already?

Sure as ****, KC has the Bolstered version (not smooth) and 2 FRN versions on their website:

I'm a bit torn on the smooth bolsters thing...i love the ability to adjust my own pivot but i do think it takes away the point and beauty of bolsters having the pivot screw show like that.
I'm super excited about this knife though, as i've really fallen for the Ladybug. It might just be my favorite Spydie as crazy as that may sound. I hope there's eventually a ZDP Manbug.

I remember now that I'd seen the Spyderco stock photo on KC a while back as well. I know those are sometimes photos of prototypes and not entirely accurate, but the exposed pivot screw on it severely dampened my enthusiasm for the Manbug.mikerestivo wrote:Ah, I see.
