Remember that Delica 4 I dyed? It's gone!

I'm attracted to the Salt 1 as my replacement, due to it's lack of steel liners, the yellow, the shape.

How does the H1 hold up when it's fully serrated, though? I'd love a fully serrated Spydie, but H1's not the hardest steel, and i currently possess neither the tools nor the skill to sharpen serrations. :D

I was lucky to receive a Salt 1 a couple months ago from the spyder crew as a replacement to my lost work knife, a Salt 1. After a couple months at work, it has needed only a couple strokes on the SM to keep it cutting away. H1 + SE = :)

I like the se salt 1. It holds a great edge. I have yet to sharpen it. I would suggest the spyderco sharpmaker to sharpen it. Al you have to do is give about ten strokes straight down on both sides. Anyone can do it.

hm, the way that's phrased makes me wonder if it's in comparison to other rustproof or "super stainless" steels such x-15 or n680.

thanks for the advice, guys. It's looking good so far for the SE H1 salt :)

I believe it was tested against all steels spyderco uses (ZDP-189)

Sal said the Jumpmaster holds the cutting record for their in-house testing. I hear the scallops and valleys of H1 rc's about 68. This could change as new steels are tested. The only way "cuts longer than any steel we have tested" could be taken other than laymens for "blade" is if Spyderco is quantifying H1 or ultra high carbon as non-steel. This would be confusing at least though.

It's beastly in SE and about AUS8 in PE. Considering rust immunity it's a terrific working knife steel.
