i am a very happy delica owner. however i also own an old timer 70+ cavebear? anyway i found that the serrations of my delica dont cut rope nearly as well. am i doing something wrong here? i think that the tips of the serrations may be to sharp but i cant be sure. what to do?

If you think that the SpyderEdge may be a bit dull, you can send your Delica back to the factory for some complimentary sharpening. Unless you have the 204, in which, you can run the blade on the edges of the triangles to sharpen them up.

Aye, you can try the 204, if you have one, to get those serrations back in order. I once touched up a rather beat-up Buck folder that had the serrations almost totally ground off of it on my trusty 204. If you don't have one, your best bet is just to send it back to the SFO for a new edge. It won't cost you a thing, except for $5 for shipping and handling. Just give them your name, address, home phone number, and a brief message telling them what it is you want done on your knife.

Good luck!

What does the 204 have that my 203 doesn't?

If memory serves, and it always does, the 203 has only one set of angles for the sticks, while the 204 has two.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Also, the bottom of the 204 base has 2 grooves milled into it, where 2 rods (hones) can be placed into it to create a "benchstone". I don't believe that the 203 has this feature.
