2000th post contest

#1

Post by Jazz »

Well, it's my 2000th post on this great forum, and to celebrate I'm having a little contest (okayed by dapagco).

Please note that I highlighted the rules for clarity, as some are missing things in their posts.

As some may know, I destroyed (for science :) ) an H1 modded Tasman Salt and carved 2 claw pendants from the blade (search the "H1 versus a shoe" thread to see details and prove they're actually what I say they are). Well, I gotta give 'em away! Here's a few pics...

One is signed "Jazz" and the other with my regular carving signature (sort of an anchor - JL thing). Both are very similar, so I'll pick of the 2 winners who gets which one.

Rules are simple:
1. You must have at least 25 posts on the Spyderco forums (other than that, all are welcome to participate).
2. One entry/post per person (don't clutter with extra posts, please - easier to keep track).
3. Pick a number between 0 and 2011.
4. Briefly say why you like Spyderco products and why you like this forum.
5. Deadline is Sunday, October 2.

YOU MUST DO ALL THREE THINGS - I DON'T MIND IF YOU EDIT.

I'll pick 2 winners as soon as I go through all the posts - be patient - I don't want to mess up. :o If there are ties, the first person to post a correct number or the closest to it wins. I PMed dapagco with the 2 numbers, so you know I'm honest. After I let you know the winners, they just need to PM me their names and addresses so I can send out the prizes.

Good luck, and let's begin! :D

- best wishes, Jazz.

I like Spyderco because they make something for everyone. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, businessman or fisherman, male or female, there is a Spyderco for you. I like the forums because of all the eye candy and feedback from all the important people over at Spyderco.

I like this Forum because we get to hear from Sal and the Spydie Gang.

...and because Tasmanian Devil is my favorite cartoon character in the whole wide world...

I like Spyderco because they offer things that other companies do not even attempt to.

I like the forum because the members offer to me things I would never see and info I would never find on my own.

I like spyderco because they are innovative and push the boundaries with materials and design, and I like coming here because of the people, they are friendly, helpful and all suffer from the same condition I do...we were all bitten by the spyder. :D

Thanks for the chance. I like Spyderco knives because they're ergonomic and have the easiest to use opener. I enjoy this forum because it gives me the chance to both learn and share what I've learned.

I love Spyderco because they make the most ergonomic knives in the buisness. This forum is awesome because you can talk about spyderco all you want and the owners of spyderco themselves frequently comment.

Other than the obvious such as outstanding ergonomics, a plethora of blade steels and the overall uniqueness of the designs, what I truly dig about Spyderco as a company is their willingness to listen and accept feedback (good or bad) from the user, and better the product accordingly.

The forum? A group of intelligent, knowledgeable individuals with a willingness to share information and grow the community and love of all that is Spyderco; what's not to like? :spyder:

Thanks for the opportunity.

I like Spyderco knives because there are enough choices to have a "set" of knives to do any cutting job that a folding knife is designed for. Also, the quality is as consistantly great as I've seen in any company and much better than most. Superior materials, especially the blade steels.

The forum has a bunch of people who are very willing to help others with questions on all levels of knowledge and experience. I could sharpen a knife pretty good when I started reading this forum. Now, with the help and advice of several people here I'm very good at it. No brag, just fact (quoting that old actor in that old western show).

Good luck to everybody.

Good work on what most would have thrown away. Those pendants look very cool.

I love spyderco because they have managed to become more than just a company that manufactures great knives (and they DO make consistently great knives!), they've manufactured a community. And one I'm glad to be a part of. So I guess that answers why I like spyderco. I like the forum because all the custom work and mods inspire me to get creative with my blades.

Nice work and thanks for the opportunity Jazz!

(hmm, this is my 25th post :D )

I like Spyderco for the way they treat their customers, which you can see on this forum. I don't think there are many other companies out there who interact so closely as Spyderco does.

Besides that... The knives they make are just awesome ;)

I'll take number 0007

spyderco is my brand because when your life has a tendency to be a game of chance, you stack the odds in your favor with quality tools.

this forum is a place where people can utilize the knowledge of others, and let them utilize theirs.

Why do I like Spyderco and these forums? Truthfully, I don't like them. Like is much to weak of a word to describe my relationship with Spyderco. Perhaps "nuclear love affair" is a more accurate term. The quality of the knives is superb, the CS attentive, management cares about our feedback, and the camaraderie here on the forums makes for a welcoming and fun environment (most of the time ;) ).

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and we're glad to have you as part of the community, Jazz.
