Countdown to SFO!

#1

Post by HighDesertSpyder »

I have started the countdown for my first trip to SFO. Should I bring a self-rescue kit in case I pass out from excitement while there? Should I make sure and bring my lunch... All jesting aside... I can hardly wait for this Monday.
Does anyone know if they can sharpen a couple of Spydies while I am there drooling on the glass cases?
Now, the ultimate dilemma for the ages to ponder: Exactly what Spyderco am I going to purchase while there? hmmm!
Everyone have a great weekend!
Take Care,
Josh

They do offer while you wait sharpening, though not usually the spa treatment if that is what's needed. Enjoy your visit. Dan

Enjoy your visit! I totally blew my own visit to the SFO when I took a trip out to Colorado last year... I had been out of the Spyderco loop for a couple of years and didn't know what any of the new and exciting models were, so while it was interesting to look around, I really didn't get that excited and I didn't buy anything. :o

I'd love to go back now, of course, even ignoring the fact that Colorado is just a fantastic state. :D

Ugh. I used to live in Englewood and in Castle Rock. I wish I was into knives back then. Being less than an hour away from the SFO, I would have gone once a month!

Enjoy!! I had blast during my visit in May. Met Sal, Eric, Charlynn, Gayle, Joyce - all great folks. Didnt get to meet Kristi since she was travelling, so i gotta go back one day :D . The 9/11 tribute is powerful. Should be a more special visit especially now.

Josh,

SFO is going to be closed this coming Monday, September 12 as the carpeting is ripped out and replaced. SFO will reopen on Wednesday, September 14 with fresh new carpeting! :)

I'm just kidding. It was already answered but yes, we do offer complimentary knife sharpening at the Spyderco Factory Outlet. Hope you enjoy your visit! :D

Have a great trip, you'll love it. Don't forget to check if you can look around in the atrium on the ground floor, check out the plaques.

If you're driving, you can't miss it. Just take the turn on the I-93 when you see the big flag!

When the sun goes down, it looks like this:

Drop your wife off at the flat iron shopping mall or one of the Denver malls with a freshly charged credit card and you should have a couple of hours to hit the SFO. Downtown Golden has a few great restaurants, my favorites include Woody's Grill and the restaurant at the Table Mountain Inn. Around Golden you can also do some impressive hiking and driving for sightseeing.

Made it to SFO and got to spend some time handling the excellent knives made available by the Glessers and the Spyderco Family. I have changed my mind on a few selections and am happy to report that I did come home with a few goodies.

Hopefully I can report on my findings a bit later.

Oh yes Dan, the carpet looks fantastic and I was happy to see that you got it installed earlier than scheduled

Is Woody's tomato based barbeque or vinegar based barbeque?

There's a place around here that has what I think is a little bit of cinnamon in their barbeque sauce. IMO, it doesn't work well with the Chicken.
