Make this Ti Manix by me.Think Spyderco should make it perfect, maybe with M390?
I am pleased with my work, concentric blade 6g lighter than orginal.Take 3mm Ti but must polish the scales befor i reanodized again, you can see every scratch.
What do you think about looking?
Thanks for comment. :D

That is really nice work. One question is how hard is the handle jimping on your hands. Just by looking, I'd want a pair of gloves to use it. What about liners? Looks like they are gone. Also, no screw holes for a clip. No clip would be 80% ok for me because I carry mine in a sheath 80% of the time but do use the clip sometimes AND some people depend on the clip when closing the knife but you can learn to close it without using the clip.

I mentioned questions, not intended to be negative. I really like your work and have ordered some colored G-10 to make scales for a Manix2. I'm looking forward to making them and hope they turn out as nice as yours did.

Nice work,
Jack

Edit: I mentioned no liners because I wondered if the Ti is hard enough to screw the clip screws into if you put holes in the handle for a clip. I know nothing about Ti and wonder if screw threads would strip easily.

I think it'd look and probably feel better without all the jimping to be quite honest. I mean that looks as comfortable to hold as a hacksaw blade. :D
Otherwise that looks pretty wicked!

And Jack, Ti is strong enough to have screw holes tapped into it, just look at pretty much any Ti framelock. All Ti or SS handles eliminates the need for liners completely unless you want a linerlock.

Good to know about the screw holes in Ti. Thanks. Also, I'm with you on the jimping. The G-10 on my Manix2s reduces the depth of the jimps. Is that the right term? :) Plus the jimps are rounded off on the liners. Even so, some people have said they thought the jimping on the handle was uncomfortable or maybe just overkill for a good grip on the handle. I don't mind them myself. But the jimping on this knife seems a bit aggressive. Kohbanang, you have held the knife so how does it feel as far as the jimping/comfort issue? Once again though, very nice work.

Don`t want do make smooth gentleman folder ;) ,manix is going by me as a hard worker, but the jimping is not so much aggressive at it looks like. The jimping on some liner locks hurts me more. The clip is on my prefer possition,i am not a left hand, but i like it inside if i use the knife for hard work.My ring finger is exactly in the curve of the clip. :D
Yes Jack no liners,as creepo write Ti is strong enough.

Sounds good. I just held mine in my left hand which puts the clip under my ring finger like you mentioned and it is very comfortable. I've also had knives that the jimping was uncomfortable, especially under the thumb. I've even ground some down to my satisfaction. I'm glad to hear your knife isn't as uncomfortable as it may look. Looks are deceiving after all. :D

That looks awesome, I think that handle with a CPM-3V blade would be perfect.

Nice work Kohbanang. Looks awesome. Sometimes lots of jimping is good. You mentioned the Ti is 3mm. I measured my orange Manix 2 and with the G-10 and liner it's almost 4mm. Does yours feel any thinner?

On a side note, did you anodize that Chokwe?

Thanks for great statements :D ,you will surprise how soft the
handle feel although the much jimping. But the lot of jimping
will help you never lost the grip, and if you have it much like
this one you must not make the jimping so aggressive(i sandblastet my) opposite
you have a smal jimping!
The smaler handle is not a problem for me,because 3mm ti feels
very strong and save weight.
As an Austrian my hope is on the M390,but CPM S110V Vanex 75 i will also love. :p
Chokwee and Military are also anodized

I don't suppose you've considered doing up a version with a titanium blade and tungsten carbide edge? :P

Nice work, but I wouldn't be interested. I don't see any advantage and several disadvantages: the Ti will scratch, the jimping is not recessed and the original with liners is already very stiff. Not to mention the higher price.
