Imagine a titanium framelock, Made in Golden, with a 3.25" S30v/S90v blade, and a standard clip(no wire).

A true Spyderbenza

Would you buy one?

just for the sake of getting a "Sebenza" for possibly a few dollars less? I'll save up and get the CRK version if/when I decide I'm interested... (probably soon)

I voted yes because it would be awesome to see what Sal and Chris Reeve could come up with if they did a collaboration, but if it just ended up being a Sebenza with a hole and the Spyderco logo for a few bucks less than a Sebenza, then I dont think I'd buy it unless it had some super awesome super steel.

The CRK version doesn't have a hole. Maybe you like studs though. :o :D

Also the 3.25" length would put it in between the Sm/Lg Sebs, perfect.

I spoke with Chris Reeve in person and he has told me that the Sebenza will never have a "hole"

So it's up to Spyderco now, to make this happen.

ha! good one!

I just think (imho), that the Sage 2 is as close as we are likely to get...

a little disappointing to hear what Mr. Reeve said, as it would seem fitting for him to produce a run with a Spydie hole, in deference to Sal honoring him with the Sage...

The Sage 2 is a great knife.

The wire clip just doesn't seem right on a Ti framelock though.

Well, my Sage 2 is home waiting for me... I'll be checking it out in a couple days. My desire for more Ti might change drastically at that point, as it is my first.

Just curious, what are your reservations about the wire clip?

I'm happy with the Sage 2 as it is. I've never had the urge to buy a Sebenza. Ti isn't my favorite handle material anyway.

It's the looks mostly.

The wire clip functions fine, it's just out of place on that knife.

In principle, yes I'd be interested, but as always, it totally depends on the design (ie handle and blade shape, ergonomics, grind, etc) as well as cost.

Heck yeah. My Sage 2 is one of my favorites; just wish it was made in Golden.

If it was CPM-S90v and Golden made it would be a "SuperBenza". ;)

I love the simplicity and quality for the money of the Sage 2 but find the ergo's a bit uncomfortable. I have nearly pulled the trigger in a Sebenza for quite a while but I think the large is too large and the small too small. A collaboration which produced a mid sized Spyderbenza and I'd be there. :)

I'd buy pretty much anything Spyderco put out with S90V -- other than that, I can't say I care much about the other aspects of this hypothetical knife (where it's made, what kind of clip it has, etc.).

I'd buy it if it was over 3.25" and S90V. Shorter and S30V wouldn't make a lot of sense in my case with the Sage 2 here already.

I'd buy a sage 2 in S90V no matter where it was made. Of course, with the usual qualifiers about price.

I like Ti framelocks. As long as it wasn't too similar to the Sage 2, I think it would be pretty cool.

For some reason or without reasons at all (still cannot figure this out) I do not like the shape of the blade on Sage. Frame lock is fine, but prefer midlock, so I will be very happy with my Ti Fluted Native5 :) . I need this baby.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian
