The Dragonfly Salt - PE or SE?

Just curious to hear your thoughts on the PE vs. SE debate for this knife. I will be ordering one soon and I plan on EDCing the knife but can't decide.
I have a ladybug H1 spyderedged keychain blade that I use more than anything on me and the majority of my knives are plainedge. I might be leaning toward the spyderedge version because...well follow me here...since the blade length is so small on this knife, I would get more cutting surface if I went with the serrated edge. My only concern is possibly losing some of the slicing ability that I love in my EDC blades.
Which one are you getting? Why? Just curious :)

If you want a D'fly 2 Salt, then get the SE. If you want a PE, then get the VG10 version. That's what I think, unless you live in a very humid climate and want a PE for an all-around EDC. Then the PE D'fly Salt will serve fine but will lose its edge quicker than its VG10 counterpart.

I think the H1 and serrated edge are an awesome combo. My Dragonfly 2 will be kept in the car and/or 3-day emergency bag. The yellow handle and serrated edge are ideal for cutting rope, twine, or even a seatbelt if needed. And in H1, I don't have to worry about humidity getting the better of a knife in long-term storage. It will be ready to use when I need it.

Serrated H1 is awesome! But so is PE, so probably both... I'm deciding right now, so don't interrupt me. :D
- best wishes, Jazz.

Well I work in a cooler, live in south florida, and swim about 5 times a week so the Salt is the way I'm going, just not sure which edge type :D

KC has it listed as a combo edge blade. Can anyone confirm if this is true or is it a fully serrated ege? Thanks :)

Hello Sec, I think you answered your own question. Since you use your ladybug spyderedge more than anything . Seems the dragonfly would produce the same results you are getting now with bigger benefits. I personally would go PE :)

it's a spyderedge, but there is a small amount of pe at the tip, so they might have just classified it as such.

So your decision comes down to your cutting tasks for the D'fly 2. Are you going to be having to saw through netting or any other fibrous material? Or do you need a small slicer?

A little of both actually, I just want it to be an EDC blade that I can have as a back-up cutter at work. So anywhere from cardboard, plastic ties, and rope, all the way to slicing open tape and packaging, etc.

I've actually been giving this a lot of thought lately, since i want to try H1 steel, but 1) i hear it's a steel that is best experienced in SE, and 2) i suck at sharpening serrations....so i was thinking when the funds allow it maybe i'll just buy two SE H1 knives of the same kind, and when one needs sharpened, send it back to Golden and rotate the other knife while it's out...so i never go without a knife but i always have a factory sharp one waiting to be used.

Honestly you probably won't need to sharpen it as much as you are anticipating but I think your plan sounds nice
