We've had this discussion before but just to alert everyone who wasn't in on it; in the past poorfish has raised it's prices before the sale starts so that the 20% off has little or no benefit. So please look carefully before pulling the trigger.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

Well the price is still the same as what it was a few weeks ago on the Military with their April sale. Even with their FedEx shipping you will have a hard time finding cheaper with the 20% off.

looking at the prices they look generally high. doubt if 20% off is achieved or even close. while you might find an individual slightly cheaper than some others with the discount. probubly end up being a few bucks no were close to 20% , i like to save too, but i dislike scams more.

I really like PoorFish but the "sales" are bullcrap IMHO. It's too much of a pain doing the math on the discount after the balloon hike to see if it's cheaper than normal.

When I'm looking to buy a knife and get it quick at a good price I check PoorFish. Prices are normally dang nice as is.

I don't know what you guys are looking at, but after checking out the website the prices are a few dollars cheaper than kc BEFORE the discount. The prices shown arent the 20% off prices. You put it in your basket and then apply the discount when you checkout. Yes, the knives are cheap with the 20% off!

Man, what's up with you guys, long night last night? :D

I threw a cento 4 in my basket to see what it was all about at $54.99. Used the code, it came to $44 plus $7 and change shipping. Cento 4 for about $50 all in? uh yes please!

Few knives like Mili for $106 or Native for $48 looks really good if you need them, but most of the staff just OK, nothing exciting.

Check the prices over time of the Sage 2 and Chokwe as proof. I'm glad other folks have noticed this tactic. I thought it was just me noticing.

It seems like about 6 months ago, they had some really great deals. I bought quite a few Spydies from them. But now, they hike their prices to match their discounts, and the deals overall don't seem nearly as good these days.

I thought I did pretty well snagging a standard satin blade black G10 Military for $114 shipped at Howes during their first "annual" 10% over dealer cost sale at the end of April.

I wish they had a Para 2 in stock, but oh well. Hmm is a Cold Steel Rajah 2 for $88 shipped worth it right now? Decisions, decisions...

I placed order for a Millie yesterday close to midnight, and just got email that it was already shipped. $119 which includes FedEx-2nd-day is **** good price comparing to what i have seen around so far. These good folks are not kidding around, and my wallet likes them already. Hope i will get actual Millie and not some pink ladybug :)

Got a Para2 for $92 I believe. I'm a happy customer. Got it fast to boot. Might get a GB before the sales over.

I didn't see Paras or bradley's. And the $145 for the Bradley seems like one of the prices that's jacked up, although with 20% off, still $5 cheaper than CS.

Any company that will hike their prices just to have a 'sale' is not reputable IMO. There are plenty of companies owned by good honest people who have great prices that I would much rather give my money to. Glad I read this so I know to NEVER buy from poorfish.

Also, comparing prices with knife center doesn't say much since they are consistently more expensive than other online shops. Only reason I would buy from them is to try and get a hard to find Sprint run. And that is assuming you put the order in when it first appears on the website and not months later when the knife is being delivered and hundreds of people have already preordered ahead of you and there is zero chance you will get the knife.

I have looked at poor fish before and unless you buy multiple items you aren't really saving anything because of shipping compared to CS. I like the fact that CS has across the board same percentage off their spyderco knives. As far as a retailer goes with a great selection they are hard to beat.

I have no problem having great selection across multiple stores. This time CS had same Millie ~$10 more expensive with standard ground shipping. Next time they will have something that will beat PF or YCS... C'est la vie. More good stores - better for us. :)

The last knife I got from PF was a Gayle Bradley for $99.99, so my experience contradicts that (1) they always mark everything up to make coupons meaningless and (2) with their sales "you aren't really saving anything" :)
