So I assume the ears on the sheath are made to snag the pocket on the draw? Sort of like a wave? Looks narsty guys ;)

Doc

Thanks for the images. What does the back of the sheath look like? Is this set up for belt or pocket carry. I just can't tell if the sheath has a clip for belt carry or the front and back of the sheath are just held together by the bolts?? The variable clip positions on a fixed blade makes it look like this sheath/knife combo has a multitude of carry possibilities.

Thanks again!!

What carry position could there be using a pocket clip on the handle of a fixed blade?

jack, I think 4 star hit he nail on the head: the clip hangs on the pocket edge so as you draw the knife out, the hooked sheath catches, disengages the sweeeeeeet blade, and falls back into said pocket. I think it's a very clever carry for a FB if it works (no experience so I dunno if it would). It would give any passing observer the impression that you were carrying a folder instead if you chose to clip carry.

Whats the point of the hole?

I understand it on folders for functionality and on fixed blades as a method of branding (ie: all Spyderco FB's).

For non Spydies or folders it seems just a way to make something look "cool".

Looking at the sheath design and how the knife would sit, I would think the hole actually serves an important role in securing the knife into the sheath (notice the molded dimple in the sheath).

Maybe I am missing something here but that knife appears to be a fixed blade version of the P'kal. Correct?

At one point Southnarc said that if he made another production blade, he wanted it to have the exact same blade specs as the P'kal. To the point he even said he preferred it to the custom versions his group sells, something about the blade shape he wouldn't explain. If this maker managed to ballpark the blade specs, this thing has a lot more going for it than meets the eye. The clip/sheath design is...new, haven't seen that one before. I'd prefer a traditional IWB setup or a static line instead of the snag-sheath, but I give the maker credit for a cool idea. Also, props for the extra layer of clip mounts, very interesting.
