Lanyard for Clip-less Spydie...

Does anyone know how to braid a lanyard for a clip-less knife? My old FRN clip broke off of one of my faves, and I'd like to learn how to braid a lanyard to allow pocket carry with easy access. Commissioning a skilled person to braid one for me is also an option I'd consider. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this idea. HELP!!!

Thanks for your kind advice. You guys (and gals) are the BEST!

OK, you have two easy options:

1.) Actually create a rope, of which the knife is an integral part. I did this with my Ladybug, and it looks great! Simply build a rope machine, using the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>'s lanyard hole as an anchor point instead of the screwdriver/pencil.

For directions on making a simple rope machine, consult the BSA Pioneering Merit Badge pamphlet. Very simple, great results.

2.) Simply tying a "hangman's loop" through the hole and clipping the ends. This is what Chris Reeve uses on many knives, and is quite simple. Numerous places on the Net tell how to tie a hangman's loop, but use a maximum of 13 loops. (Any more is bad luck!)

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Thanks for the tips, gang!

With a little practice, I'll get this lanyard tied up nice and tight!
