How many do you carry?

#1

Post by buddy54ck »

:spyder: :spyder:
Hi All,
I apologize if this has been posted before, but I wasn't here! I just want to see just how big of a problem that I do have!!!
I have always loved knives, and have always carried a knife on my person as an EDC. It seemed as soon as I discovered Spyderco Knives, carrying one was not enough. I had to have a backup, then a backup to the backup! Next thing I know I find myself carrying about 4 daily, sometimes more when I wear cargo pants.
I'm pretty sure that I am not alone in the number that I carry, and I would guess that some carry more.

So My Question is :: ;)
:spyder: :spyder:
HOW MANY DO YOU CARRY? :spyder: :spyder:
Please help Me to know whether I have a problem or not!

Thanks,
Charlie

For most EDC days, just one folder. While hiking in the mountains here on the weekends, one fixed blade and a folder.

Heh, I think you've found yourself in good company. I always have one knife on my keychain, one clipped to the pocket, and at least one in a MT. Sometimes more than that, sometimes I leave the MT at home. Believe me though bud, a few people here make we 1-4 EDC knife types look like droopy eyed armle... actually, Mr. Sheen might have that copyrighted... suffice it to say that many here carry far more than we do on a daily basis. :p

Charlie,
this sound familiar. Before I got into Spydercos, one SAK was enough. Now in work day it is C83 Persian, Caly3.5, Ladybug + once in a while Kopa. On weekend, it is only Persians: big and small, and of cause Ladybug. All PE, just because I love them.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I often have 2. My CF Michael Walker, and then either ZDP Stretch or Manix.

I'd always have my street beat on me, but it's a little harder to carry around the office.

When in the city, I typically only carry one Spydie folder (one of the Sage ones or the Caly 3) and a SAK. If going camping or hiking, I would definitely bring more, but in the city having more than two knives seems a bit unnecessary.

I don't carry too many, normally a Cricket as a money clip, Baby Goddard on my keys, a Spyderco in my Front Left Pocket and usually a slipjoint in one of my front pockets.

I feel kinda silly admitting this:

I usually carry a 3 inch knife of some sort; Delica, UKPK, Sage, Persistence, etc.

But I also have a leatherman Charge AL on my belt, with it's 154cm blade and 420HC serrated blade.

...But I also carry a Swiss Army knife on me, usually a Super Tinker model, or related one. And that has two blades on it. A large one and a small one.

...And then on my keychain, I carry a ladybug and a keychain swiss army knife.

Which means, in total...I guess I carry 7 sharp things on me at a time.

Kinda embarrassing, when I tally them all up.
:spyder:: Delica 4 Grey FFG, Sage 1 + 2, Persistence PE, Ladybug Black PE

Trying to find an excuse to buy: Tasman Salt SE, Hawkbill Ladybug H1, Delica 4 Foliage Green CE, Ladybug Foliage Green SE, UKPK FRN, Cricket PE/SE

I carry 1 or 2 when I'm not in the woods or by water. Usually a Lady Bug on the keys and a folder in my right front pocket. On occasion, I'll also have an Izula in my left front pocket.

When in the woods or near water, I'll add a fixed blade or two and another folder or two.
