Just bought my grail!

#1

Post by Freediver »

So I am in the process of selling off most of my collection so I could afford my grail... the YOJIMBO and I just got home from work and saw one on ebay for $265 BIN and I bought it without second guessing myself like I normally would. Am I nuts? I've been looking forever so I'm real excited. The only problem is the seller won't ship to Hawaii for some reason so I need to ship it to my family on the mainland. Oh well, at least I finally found one :D

I have a rule, if I wake up dreaming about a particular knife 3 times, I don't ask questions, if I can come up with the cash, I buy it. When I haven't followed this rule, I wake up missing the knife in question. Congrats. There aren't too many ways to regret owning that wonderful knife.

You could always sell the Yo on ebay for $500 and then buy two...one for each hand....Doc :D

That's interesting, I know someone who has had a LNIB Yojimbo on several forums for sale since November and just last week ended up selling it for 170.

Black :) I can't wait. I have been looking for one for so long. Back when I joined the forums in 2009 I always thought about getting one but at the time couldn't justify paying that much. Now I can. See what happens when you hang around here too long?

Geez tell me about it. I used to cringe at spending $50 on a knife let alone $200...now it all just depends on the knife :D

Congrats. I joined the Yo club about a month ago. I paid $240 for mine off of ebay. After I did it I was like  "WHAT DID I JUST DO". I got it and do not regret it one bit. I'm downsizing the collection to about 10 total knives as I'm trying to bring down the debt. The Yojimbo will be with me for years to come. Mine is also black. I may be making it 11 once the Yo2 comes out. :D

As of right now I only own a Para 2 and a ladybug salt. I also have a Pacific salt on the way which is being worked on by Brad. Once the Yo and Pac get here I'll be up to 4. I can't even count how many Spydies I have purchased and resold in the last few months.

I can relate on buying and reselling. My local knife shop has a trade in policy thats too good to pass up. I fell in love with my Para tho...that one isnt going anywhere.
