Dudes ~

How do you present your <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s?

1. Do you flick it open?

2. Do you do the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> drop?

3. Use the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> round hole with your thumb?

I normally use the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Hole, but on occasion do a drop.

<img src=http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/372fcedb ... 8A88UxWudf> We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare... <img src=http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/372fcedb ... 8A88UxWudf>

Usually use the hole. Sometimes I drop if I need to get it open fast. I almost never flick it open. Too many potential non-knife people where I work.

It really depends on which <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I'm carrying. I flick the Military, drop the Harpy and Civilian, and use the Hole for everything else.

#3 I use the hole to open them. My EDCs are FRN models so the Spydie drop doesn't work very well and they don't flick open either

It was too cool to watch Bram working on his Kinetic opening on the Gunting and Poppa Spyder Sal's quick Spydie draw! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I do the drop to my Ladybug(!!!). Yes, it can be done. The key to which he is attached to is heavy enough to do the trick <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I usually do the drop to all my other knives (except the autos, of course).

I use the hole.

BTW, what do you all mean by "doing the drop"?

doing the drop means to perform the "spydie drop" or reverse drop. To do this, grab the hole firmly in thumb and forefinger, adding more fingers if you can for stability, and with a flick of the wrist, throw the knife down toward your feet. DO NOT LET GO OF THE BLADE! you're not really throwing it, but that's the motion you need. at the end, give a flick of the wrist as you abruptly start pulling the blade back up, and the handle will flick out and lock into position, positioning the knife well for the forward grips. It takes a little practice, but it's not as hard as it first sounds.

Xibalba- the infamous <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Drop is done thusly.

Hold your knife firmly, index finger and thumb on the hole, middle finger holding the knife at the hump behind the hole.

If it is indexed correctly, you have the knife pinched with your thumb/index and have it resting slightly on your middle finger.

Now, flick your wrist downward, similar to cracking a whip. The weight of the handle and the momentum should open the blade all the way.

I myself don't much care for the drop, though I use it occaisionally. Primarily, I use the hole.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Actually, the drop is not <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> specific, it can be performed with any knife, providing the blade has enough space for grabbing. But with a spydie it works better<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Thumb hole, drop and flick are too hard on the wrists. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
