It's benifit is it's ease of use.
I never really got on with a benchstone, I might get the edge maginally sharper, other times I'd have to start again from scratch because I got sloppy in the middle. First try with the Sharpmaker and I had the knife shaving sharp.

Walk softly, carry a big stick.

Absolutely incredible, nothing less. I can take any knife I own, regardless of steel or condition, and shave with it in 20 minutes or less.

The price varies widely. Shop around a bit, some places have them as low as $40.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

the 204 is great... I get LOTS of free experience, sharpening anything my friends can give me.

I think I've sharpened pretty much everything you can think of with an edge or point.

O.k., I just broke down and ordered the 204. Can't wait to start practicing on the kitchen knives! I figure I should get some experience before I move on to the *really important* cutlery. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
