The Walking Dead
who watched it last night? all 90 min of it!
next week will be only 60 min. the tank scene is crazy! stuck in a tank then a random voice to transition into the next episode. love it!
i loved it. who watched it? :)
ps. i hate "slow" zombies - i want "dawn of the dead" fast zombies!

I watched it. My first question for the main character is: What is wrong with you? Heading for the city where the CDC is headquartered during a biological catastrophe?! They don't consider a disease "under control" until they've found a cure or a preventative, so you know the disease will be there for study, making it the most likely place in the country to have an uncontrolled outbreak. Yet not even the thousands of dead cars on the highway out clued him in. What a moron.
I don't believe in safe queens, only in pre-need replacements.

hey all! this show is based on a decently long running comic which is AWESOME and you all should check out. i was totally ready for the show to suck because i love the comic so much. turned out i really enjoyed the show. there is some wild stuff to come... wait till you meet "the governor" !!!!!
i would agree that Rick is making a silly move going to Atlanta... but remember if you watched / listened closely he is going to find his wife and son... stupid but imo realistic. you do dumb stuff for love haha.
i implore you all to keep watching.. the writer has said there will be small changes from the comic (to keep readers interested) and that major events happen faster. they have already signed for a second season. it shouldnt take more than a few episodes for stuff to start getting WILD!
glad yall watched!

I really liked the premiere. I have purposefully put off reading the comic since I tend to be disappointed by a show or movie after reading the book. I am a huge Zombie fan, and am glad to finally have a zombie series. Being on AMC also gives me hope that this will be on for awhile since they seem to have a lot of luck with the shows they air.
Being from Atlanta made it very interesting also. I had a ting of home sickness when I say Marietta St.

oh man me too. food, water, ammo/guns. go up through my parents room to the attic to the roof and block it off. being high is being safe! (my appt doesnt have that so if i was at my family's house i would be safer) communication with others and what i would do. gas for car. staying mobile is safe - well kind of. (maybe being out and about would be dangerous but as long as your driving you would be safe) i think about it EVERYTIME i watch dawn of the dead, 28weeks/months, walking dead etc etc.2cha wrote:I like thinking about what I would do

There was an interesting zombie piece on NPR recently related to the NatGeo special (which I only watched a few minutes of). What I liked about the NatGeo piece was that it suggested that the zombie fascination is a metaphor for disaster scenarios. For me, zombies are a proxy for hungry people. In a highly populated and logistically complex region like my own, grocery stores would be empty in a very few days if trucks, trains and ships stopped delivery--millions and millions of people would be starving in short order.
As for staying mobile? Yeah right. Better get a bicycle. Nat'l highway system sold to the american public in the 50's as a means to ease evacuation (instead of sell more cars, gas and tires) is a farce. Holiday weekend traffic X 10 means highways clogged with cars with empty gas tanks. Walking dead got that right anyway--except that one side of the highway was empty! People, (like me) would have jumped the median strip and both directions of every highway would be full of stranded cars heading for the hills. Best bet is to hunker down and protect your food and family!

ISAIAH 40:31 But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They will mount up on wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
