Red Persian sprint on the way, first spydie purchase in over a year, yay!
Thanks Sal, Ed, and everyone who kept the Persian sprint request threads alive.

Will this be your first experience with a Persian? If so, you will be pleasantly surprised by the wonderful ergos, excellent fit and finish and great blade shape and grind. I too have the red Persian and it is my first of that type. Really a beautiful, useful knife.
As my grandmother used to say, enjoy it in good health!

That is true. Also some toys are better than others. So far this year I am extremly happy with my new Caly3.5 and Red Persians.

Mine just arrived tonight. I did a pre-order a while ago but never got any order confirmation at all. Then my hot water heater blew up and flooded part of the house so I figured that if it didn't come then it just wasn't meant to be.
Guess it was meant to be after all.

I have had a serious Jones for the full size Persian for a few years. I eventually bought a mini-persian and gave it to my wife with instructions to pass it down to my daughter some day, she carries it clipped in her boot or skirt inseam everyday.. I usually carry a Schempp Kriss or OG Stretch. I love those knives but the Persian was my holy grail even though I'd never seen one in real life, so......
Funny story, I once posted an info request here looking for the original full size persian and someone directed me to what I believe was the last full size NIB Persian available anywhere for under $200, well that info drop was a public reply and payday was two days away so I knew someone would probably snag it before I could and sure enough by the next day it was gone. You'll never guess who snatched it before I could... freakin' Ed Schempp himself! True story. =)
After awhile I stopped looking for one, and eventually I stopped coming here entirely and so I haven't kept up at all with new releases or sprints for a LONG LONG time. But then the other day, out of the blue I decide to type "Persian Spyderco Sprint" in ye olde google and BAM!! WTF? No way?? Where??? In Stock?? YES!!! YES!
I'd waited so long already that when I got the knife I set the box on the table unopened for a half hour or more, savoring the moment. When I finally did slide the box open a warm golden light shone down from heaven and a choir of angels began to sing...
I don't have time right now to gush about my full size Persian, but I will say, without doubt, this tone of red is unusual but perfect to my taste, all my expectations have been exceeded and I am back in the fold. =)
