Help with knife identification please.

Post by Killtation »

Hey guys. My father recently gave me some of his old belongings. He developed Congestive Heart Failure and he, being the grim person he is, would not like these "relics" of his to be in storage if something is to happen to him. Attached photos are a couple of the things that he gave me. Both lighters have been identified as a World War II original Trench Lighter and a 1987 Commemorative brass Zippo. I'm not sure at all about the knife or the multi-tool. These I would like to know more about. I do not wish to sell any of these. Sentimental value far exceeds any dollar amount that could be placed.

Thanks for the help. ^.^

As you can see the clip on the back of the knife is broken, that is the reason he stopped carrying it. I would like to replace this clip if possible. He received this knife on his 18th birthday and he is not going to be 42 in December. I wish to replace the clip and return it to him in working order.

The knife is a Spyderco, made in Seki, Japan. I looked through several lists of discontinued and current Spyderco knives and could not find it.

Sorry, long post. Pics below. (Small note: Sorry for the bad quality, we recently moved closer to the hospital and I could not find anything but my webcam for pictures.)

Thats an old Spyderco C03 Hunter model.

They stopped making it in 1993 or so, but the clip is common and can still be found by contacting Spyderco Warrenty and Repair.
...oh you know why!

Hey same here, sorry for the rebirth; but my paternal grandfather left me with a strikingly similar shank and I was wondering if you could provide me with a model or number so that i can further research into it.

He was in the (at the time) Royal Canadian Navy and it was standard issue at the time of his enlistment. Here are some pics....

Pretty sure that's an Endura 2. It was first produced in 1997 if my research is correct.

My grandfather had it while in service during World War 2 (1942 if can remember);

and while off the coast of Gibraltar at night, a warship travelling next to my grandfather's in the fleet of warships they had been a part of, had gotten sunk by a German U-boat. This all took place on Christmas Eve 1942, i believe.

It looks like the Endura Generation 2 but from 1942??

This knife most definitely was not from 1942. Pocket clips were introduced in the 80s by Spyderco... And this is an Endura. Here's an article in the spydiewiki on it:
