Wacky Idea(Forum Shirt)

Hello guys and gals, I was thinking that if there is no forum knife this year how about WE(meaning members of the forum) create a "forum shirt"

I have seen several online forums such as edc forums, blade, CPF, etc create a shirt.

Now usually because those forums are privately owned the proceeds go to keeping the forum up and running.

It could be something as simple as a Spyderco Logo on the front chest with "Spyderco Forum 2010" under the bug.

This is just an idea so go easy, of course it is not set in stone and we would need an approval by Spyderco and work out the kinks.

So... Comment? Ideas?

I think it would work if it was kept simple - like open an account with one of those sites, like Cafe Press, where you upload a design and the site handles all the printing & distribution and then feeds back a % of the profit. That way Spyderco wouldn't have to get into stocking the item and shipping it out internationally :)

I like the idea.

I think a Black or Grey shirt with a fairly large Spydie Bug graphic (in Red) on the front and along the back have Spyderco Forums on it.

If kept simple I would definitely be in for one. I don't one one with all kinds of writing on it though.

**** even one saying

"First we made things sharp, then we made sharp things" on the back somewhere would be cool.

Just my thoughts.

Good idea. I like the idea of CafePress. I know it is a bit more expensive but like someone said they don't have to stock anything and worry about shipping. It would be worth the price I think.

I'd totally be down for one, or more if several colors are available.
Don't care if it'd be a 2010 shirt or just a regular forum shirt, Spyderco has it's own shirts anyway so why not add one to the lineup. I've been itching for a Spyderco T-shirt for a while now anyway. :p

With all due respect, I can't imagine myself buying one. I personally don't like fancy logos or anything that would cause extra attention on my clothing. I can definitely see the collectability value that a forum shirt would bring; however, that's simply not my style.

I understand, although something like the Spyderco Bug logo and the name "Spyderco" will not attract any attention unless the person seeing/reading knows his or her knives.

On the other hand, I see their is surely the demand for these shirts. Personally I would like something plain and not too crazy but would do anything.

I might buy one, it's a lot more affordable than a knife when you're in the process of applying for grad school!

If you open a CafePress account, what happens to the money generated? Usually CafePress gets a cut and the designer of the shirt, but in this case maybe it should go to charity or some other type of giveaway?

I suppose I'll get the ball rolling on designs. The idea was to use a list of knife names direct from the 2010 catalogs to form the Spyderco logo. The white text represents sprint runs that were listed in the catalog. I couldn't find the font that Spyderco uses in their logo so I had to make due with what I had. If I had that font I could have the bottom say something along the lines of "Spyderco 2010".

I still don't want one but I definitely had fun making it.

If kept simple, I'd probably grab a couple. For example, our Jerzeedevil shirts consists of the JD logo on the front and simply the forum name across the shoulders.

tastefully done and yet enough to make other ppl ask questions. ;)
