#1

Post by Orbitalsun »

Hi guys,
you probably know better than I do: Is this a fake poliwog?
I found it on ebay: Item # 130425978162

I appreciate your comments
Oh, by the way - I'm new to this forum and this was my first post. Sorry if I messed up the link :o
... no, seems to work just fine.

It looks like a Chinese fake to me - there are a lot of them :( I don't think Spyderco ever made black or camouflaged blades on a Poliwog.
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

Agree, another fake, the vents in the scales don't match the original.

Plus, the lock is not a ball. It's a rod with rounded ends. Not to mention that Spyderco never made a camo finish Poliwog.

Is that supposed to by camo? It looks like someone spilled chlorine on it.
