"Secret" Spydercos

What "exclusive" Spydies do you know of?

I'm looking for actual production models that can only be purchased from a certain distributor.

I recently learned from a posting by Deacon that AG Russell carries Red C26 Snap-It w/ VG-10 blades in both PE & SE. I was under the impression all Snap-It production had ceased years ago. The AG Russell site list this as exclusive.

What other little known Spydies are out there?

There are a number of Japanese Market Spydercos. There have recently been a number of dealer and distributor sponsored Sprint Runs as well. Pink Manix 2, the ucoming G-10/ti RIL Military, and several Moteng sponsored versions of the Lum Chinese Folder come to mind, I know there have been a bunch of others as well.

The SnapIt though, is unique, in that AG Russell has kept an otherwise discontinued model going single handedly for close to ten years now. They aren't just old stock he's been hoarding either, the ones he's selling now are VG-10, the originals were not. Speaking of AG Russell, he still has the "A G Russell exclusive" MOP Kiwi as well.

I know it is a newer release but JB Distributing had the Spyderco Manix II in Pink G10.

Never saw stainless :spyder: with brass liners before... It looks neat though...
Does anyone know anything about it?
Was it a sprint, production, customized, or distributor specific?

That should be one from the first run, the early ones had brass liners.

So what's the reason spyderco makes certain japanese-only models that we can't get on this side of the planet earth ? I mean spyderco is an american company after all right

I think it's more a case of Spyderco allowing their Japanese makers to manufacture versions for home consumption which Spyderco did not feel would sell well here, or knew from experience would not.
