Harpy stainless or Spyderhawk SE blades?

I want a good SE blade and am drawn to the curved ones. Harpy Stainless and Spyderhawk H-! stainless both look great to me. Any opinions? The Superhawk is out of my league financially. Incidentally, it will not be used a lot, so water or whatever is no problem.

Harpy is a classic, been in the lineup for 23 years with only one major change aside from blade steel in all that time. Has that rock solid feeling that stainless steel handles give. Size is about that of a Delica. Spyderhawk is bigger, uses the old Endura III handle. Its handle has the little bit of flex that's common in unlined FRN handles, especially larger ones, but offer better grip than the stainless steel of the Harpy. Spyderhawk gives you more reach, Harpy gives you more control.

Thank you for this nice info. I never would have known otherwise.

You might also check out the Merlin or Tasman Salt. Think Spyderhawk that's Harpy-sized.
