New Ladybug Blade?

#1

Post by RJNC »

Sal said in an earlier thread that if the Ladybug Hawkbill did well, they'd consider more new blade styles for the Ladybug. Did the Hawkbill do well? What blade style would you all like to see on a Ladybug?

I think there is only a few blade shapes that look good on the current ladybug "handle".

Something like a leaf or "native style" blade would require a different handle shape...

that being said, I would love another ladybug ;)

I'd go for a Jester-shaped blade on the Ladybug handle. :D

And more LB hawkbills. They went pretty fast, and I only got one. Wouldn't mind a few more...

The other blade shape I'd like to see is a nice, pointy wharncliffe.

I think one of the reasons why the hawkbill design on the lady bug has multiple reasons for its success.

1. I believe it may become h1? this is just a guess
2. For a small edc like this, the hawkbill design I think would be perfect for opening packages and letters etc.

The bigger hawkbills tend to serve a different purpose in my opinion, so putting it in this form factor would be amazing imo, and I would get a ladybug in hawkbug /serrated form.

I don't know if it has a name other than reverse S, but I would love to see a Civilian/Matriarch shaped blade on my ladybug. I'm sure the tips on them would be delicate so maybe they could shape it with a little less drastic tip. Anyway that crossed my mind the other day and someone just happened to post about it so I'm just throwing it out there and I'd buy at least 4 just for myself given the chance!

Now being a little more realistic, I love the hawkbill, I'd love a bright colored handle like the toxic green(on which i imagine a black finish H1 hawkbill) A bright blue I think I remember Sal mentioning(would probably look better with a nice H1 hawkbill regular finish.

Oh yeah, and the PE scalpel blade from the Microdyad would be nice to see too. That's a wicked little slicer.

I would have to vote for a Wharnnie as well. But I gotta admit a hawbill in Toxic Green would be pretty wicked!

As a Jester fan, I'd put the blade that belongs in that handle back in it. ;) :D

I would also like to see a higher volume sprint run, to keep the prices from sky rocketing

+1
I will buy one, but in the case of VG10/micarta combination I would buy two.

I love the idea that you can get in while the price is good then have a piece worth more then you paid. It is a great sporting element to collecting knives IMO

I like yowser's idea. And since that Microdyad blade is made to fit a Ladybug knife it should be an easy make for Spyderco.
