Excuse me for being ignorant, but can someone give me the quick and dirty on twitter. the worst part is, I am only 30, so you would think I would know what it is considering I hear so much about twitter.

Following me would be pointless because I never post anything.

I do follow certain retailers to hear about specials (and Spyderco of course).

I have to admit, 98% of my twitter activity is following news sources: national review,Cato institute, scifwire, tuaw, a few journalists, a handful of old friends who actually use twitter to connect with their industries.

I guess you could say I use it as an interactive RSS feed reader.

Others use it more for neteorking, marketing, sourcing, and the like.

Well, knife related, I follow woot.com, and poorfish, sometimes they have good coupon codes. Those are the most frequent posters of those I follow. Some others are more specific to other hobbies, oh yeah and I follow Conan O'Brien since he's not on TV at the moment.
