Your best & most useful Spyderco

Hi all,
Haven't been around in a while - been pretty busy.
I've been thinking about my Spydies lately and which one I would consider to be the best and most useful knife I've bought.
My Millie is a great workhorse and I love my Caly III with its brilliant blade shape. My Stretch II is very well designed and a great cutter. I love my Spyderhawk, and my Salt Tasman and Atlantic are great in the boat.
BUT, I have to say that the best and most useful knife (and one I NEVER EDC) is the Spyderco Yang - the PE kitchen knife! Hands down the winner for me. I have a set of good German knives, but when I want to dice, slice or just cut most things from meat to vegies, the Yang is the knife I reach for.
What about you guys?

It is a tossup between the FFG D4 I always carry and the Mule that I put a cork handle on and use in the kitchen. Mule gets more use most days, but D4 gets used in more ways and places.

My Sage is the perfect combination of elegance and utility.

Has to be my UKPKs ... EDC-able ... and they make great vegetable slicers in the kitchen too :)
The Terzuola gets a lot of pocket time but the hollow grind makes slicing a bit tougher.

Probably one of my cheapest one... The FRN Dragonfly. It suits my needs best and is always with me. Opening packages, bags of chips etc. with a key, teeth... Sigh, just seem barbaric to me.

Mine would be the Stretch. My PE K05 Utility Knife definitely gets more actual use, but lives in the kitchen. The Stretch, on the other hand, follows me everywhere.

C83 Persian. Great ergos, 3.5" blade and great cutting abilities are making this :spyder: most used.
This can be changed when Caly3.5 come out.

Caly 3 for me. I carry a G10 PE every day at work and I have a CF Caly 3 for fancy stuff. I also have a backup of each and I even have an SE Caly 3 just to complete the "family" with another SE backup in the pipeline.
And I'm looking for a third PE G10 Caly 3 for a backup to the backup (or a "pre-need" pre-need replacement as Yab would say).
Much as I love the current Para, based on carry & use the Caly 3 would have to be my most used and useful.

Most useful vs favorite is an interesting question. My favorite is the G10 D'fly, but my most useful is probably the Stretch FRN. Perfect blade length & blade shape, but the handle isn't quite right and it doesn't 'speak' to me as much as some other knives, but the blade configuration is the best of all my spydies.

There is no way I can specify one knife here. My constant favs I always return to are ( in no particular order):
- Caly Jr VG10
- Persian C83
- Persian C105
- Millie SE 440V
- Para FG D2

I'm gonna have to go with any one of my Militaries. They carry very light and easily and can handle just about anything I might encounter in day to day cutting/slicing chores from opening packages, mail, etc., breaking down boxes, light yard work to slicing up bread, veggies and meat. Just a fantastic all-around knife.
Not to say I don't absolutely love my D4's, FRN Stretch 2 and new pink Manix 2, I just think the Millie combines some of the best attributes of these other favorites into one perfect package. :D

Current vote would be the Bob T which has been my non-locking EDC since it came out. Lately, I have been carrying a Khukuri as the locking component of my EDC and like it a lot. Senitmental fav is the Jess Horn in ZDP.

+1!
I have a lot of knives that for one reason or another, I "like" better than the UKPK (handle or blade material, ball lock.... Whatever) but the size, weight and deep wire clip seem to make this the knife of choice for me 90% of the time. In fact, i just preordered the Ti version. ;-)
OP - agree, the Yin/Yang set is great in the kitchen. I do still call on my Shun Elite for larger tasks but those two do most of the work.
Tried to make an M4 mule take on the tks of paring but it's just too thick ;-)... Pity.

My best Spyderco is also my most useful...and that one is whatever one I happen to be carrying at the time someone asks.
At the moment I am carrying an Endura which certainly is not my most expensive, or even my most highly modified...but it is the best right now because all the Spydercos at home in my drawer are worthless at the moment (since they are out of reach). Tonight when I hop on the bike, it will be the Salt-1 that is the best. Tomorrow, I may select a Military to carry.

Mine would be my original Endura (G-2 stainless steel FRN) I've used it for almost everything on and off for 12+ years.
That said, I recently was "bitten" by it

so have purchase a number of other knives. So far my favorite is the Manix 2. I'll let you all know if that changes as I use some of the others :)

My collection is small (only 3), but I have to say my sage 1. I love my Manix 2 FFG, but it is a little big for frequent carry. I don't end up taking it around with me that frequently.
The Sage and a victorinox Pioneer/soldier are my most useful knives.
It's hard to pick one...

I find that my most useful Spydie is the Poliwog original all stainless version.
It is unbelievably comfortable in my hand, the balance is perfect, the cutting power suits my needs, when needed it is really easy and quick to sharpen, and it's legal in my state. (Although maybe not NYC)
You New York City goers or residents ought to take note. I could almost swear that I read the carry laws had been changed so that ANY length locking knife in your possession in NYC is illegal. Can anyone verify this?

I would say my most used is my tenacious but not by much second place is a tossup between ZDP endura, persistence, saber ground endura. My most carried at the moment that has dislodged my military from my RFP is my chinook 3.

Military or Sage I/II. The Stretch is great as well, but I prefer liner/frame locks.. :o
