Up-Armored Spydies?

#1

Post by FIMS »

Anyone done this with Up-Armored?

I want to send something down to them for the urban camo spa treatment.

Is this it^

If so, Google :) It is a beautiful thing!

I saw a Strider fixed blade in the Cove with the skull camo pattern and thought it was awesome!!! This would be really cool to have done... Imagine a military or a manix like that? I just wonder how it holds up... Not to sure what to think but I know it looks cool! lol

Sorry folks, I thought I affixed the link, thanks StangBang.

I have a few users that need some life brought into them again and thought this mat be worthwhile followed by a good re-sharpening.

If I get my hands on a Chinook or Manix that needs some love, this might be the route I take.

That does look pretty cool. I'd be afraid to use one after that treatment though. Wouldn't want to scratch up th pretty pictures.

Hey, I am a "virtual genius" on this topic (person educated entirely by the web with no personal experience), but reports are that this stuff is tough beyond expectation. I am not sure how it compares to DLC blade coatings, but it is basically the same as DuraCoat which surpasses any type of military requirements for firearm finishes.

I think if you scratch it up, you have some stories to tell that are gonna be cooler than the finish you messed up.
Thanks,

If it was DLC I'd definitely be up for it but any other coating will probably be not be as durable.

i think if you did this on a folder it would probably damage the action of the knife opening and closing. until it finally wore off in the right places to get back the smoothness again.

Anyone else not want their folders to look like they're about to be stabbed into the gut of an unsuspecting enemy?

I have a fixed blade (non-Spydie) Im considering sending down.

But a spare Manix done with this I think would look good.

Even just the scales done for something different.

I have seen it done on Cutlerylovers benchmade balisong. Smooth action all around because they did good prep work.

NuNFancy did a spray job himself on an Endura and it looked wicked.

Now I want a Balisong.
