Problem w/ M2 lanyard tube

My CF Manix 2 had developed just the slightest amount of play at the flared lanyard tube. Well, being the handy guy that I am I decided to fix it myself. I cut off the heads of 2 #8 screws, inserted them into the lanyard holes, put the whole deal in some clamps and tightened. The resulting play in my knife is much worse. I have heard that you can use superglue to fix such problems but I was thinking that one of you guys might have another fix.

Thank you,

Paul

I hope one day Spyderco gives up on the idea that the lanyard tubing should act as a backspacer, especially with no screws holding it in place.
Your post gave me an idea for the next manix 2 Sprint Run I would like to see: one with no lanyard hole and real standoff spacers at the back.

LorenzoL, the next sprint run might be a FRN one like prototype Mr. Blonde posted pictures of. That one didn't have a spacer, just a big hole in both scales.

This is what I'm talking about:

While I had no actual problems with the back spacer on my S90V sprint, I really don't like the idea this tube being the only support at the butt of the knife. I too would be much more comfortable with standoffs or a small back spacer.

Give me the same design with full liners and CF scales and I will be very happy. ;)

The frn version is to be a standard production version, not a sprint.

I am really excited about the frn M2. Not only is the lanyard hole better but I love the wire clip. Of course I'm going to have to buy one of the Low rider wire clips but I love having that option.

Well, I fixed my M2 this weekend with a couple of drops of superglue, worked like a charm. Only one side was loose so in theory I should still be able to rotate the scales on both sides to clean it if I need to.
