Spyderco iPhone App

Anyone with an iPod or iPhone knows it can sometimes be a little tricky/difficult navigating around the Spyderco forums in the standard format. So I was wondering if Spyderco has ever considered doing an App, or would the demand for it just not quite be there? It'd be nice to have an all in one Spydie app for browsing new models/specs and searching the forums, etc.

It's borderline impossible with a Blackberry. I would love a BB app.

no. but there needs to be a sweet catalog app for iphone/android
If I had the ability to code and stuff I would make it for us.
btw spyderco, if you ever consider this. I would definitely pay for it.

I don't think its so bad, I bought my last two batches of Mule Team knives from a Blackberry.

I find it quite easy browsing the forums.

Personally I find little to no difficulty browsing via iPhone. I am posting this with my phone right now in fact.
Not saying things could not be better but it is not immediately clear to me how they could be *much* better. I probably would not pay much (if any) for such an application.

While an iPhone app would be very cool, I have never had an issue with browsing the forums or the online catalog from Safari. But that does t change the fact that I'd pay for an iPhone app of the forums and catalog and store!!!

I hate having to zoom in just to tap the next page icon and thread jumping is tedious. Would be cool to dial in a thread from a scrollable menu. Add the option to upload images from a mobile device. And come to think of it, typing on my Ipod is better because of the auto correction. Much faster posts. Build in a catalog that can be updated along with a "BUY NOW" button next to each model. All you have to do is link the button to the main site without having to open the web browser. A "history of Spyderco" tab would be nice including pics and descriptions of spyderco models. That would be a one stop edgucational place for new members and people on-the-go. So basically, you could break the app into sections of
Forums
Catalog/Shop
Company History
Images and Videos
Customer service/Contact us
I like the last one a lot. Lets just say you're out at work and giving your Endura a beating. It's dull, chipped, and the pivot is gritty. The Cust. service/Contact us tab would let you call or e-mail spyderco right there on the spot. Instead of coming home tired, forgetting and now you are one more day behind getting your Endura serviced.
I like the idea of an app. What else should/would be in it. And yes, I would pay for it.

Yeah, on second thought... I went so far as customizing my iPhone as shown...so I am sure I would probably shell out a few bucks for a cool app.

Maybe it is just my service. Sprint + Big tall buildings in NYC = spotty 3g coverage.

The quickest and easiest way would be to install a vbulletin (the software forum here) style for mobile devices (such as:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=151186). That would help everyone and wouldn't involve making an app or really any work beyond installation on the server.

True, I am also in NYC but use T mobile... I get service pretty much all the time except when in certain parts of the college.

For some reason, every time I try to search on the forums here's what I have to do- I hit the search button, nothing happens so then I hit it again, then the window pops up, I go to type in it and it immediately dissapears, so then I hit the search button again, and finally type in my search. I have to go through this every time, am I the only one?

I have no problems using my BB with Opera browser. Works fine. Don't like the default browser on my BB though.

For those of you with Android, there's optional browsers in the market that allow for auto zooming and things to help on forum sites as well.
