G-10 Military or Titanium?

I'm getting a Military for EDC. I miss having one. I love the Military G-10 bc it's thin, light, and grippy. The Ti is obviously stronger, but heavier and not so grippy. I almost want to buy the Ti and put a G-10 scale on front, but I don't want to spend $300+ for both.

What do I do?

I'd call Knife works and ask to be put on the list for the G10/Titanium Millie with M4 blade steal...and hope someone already signed up backs out :D

if not I'd go with the old standby G10 !!!

I'd go with G-10 if the KnifeWorks Millie is unavailable. The liner lock on the Millie is still good stuff.

I had the S90V one I wish I hadn't sold it and I knew I would feel that way when I sold it

Sounds like a cool one but I don't want to get on a list, need it now. I think I'll try the Ti and see how I like it. If I don't I'm sure I can sell it instantly and it's not like the G-10's are scarce.

I'm sorry, my friend, but you seriously screwed the pooch with that!
The S90V Millie is arguably the single best Spyderco ever produced.
I am totally open to other opinions, but stand by that statement 100%.
I will never sell mine. I'll use it and hope I never lose it!

Gah  I know. Hopefully I'll get another someday, or at least the D2 one. I had that also when they were new.

Given what's available in current production the G-10 Military is a **** of a bargain and more than adequate for daily duty......and SV30 takes a great edge, and will hold it, even with lots of use, for at least a week. What's it take to put a good edge back on a SV30 Millie with a Sharpmaker ??....a few minutes ? Heck, put a convex edge on that knife and you can strop it on the back of a piece of cardboard and bring the edge "back" even faster.

How important is it that your knife blade go a month until you sharpen it ? ;)

If titanium is to your liking, the Ti Millie is a work of art !

MCM dropped a hint of something even more extraordinary than the Ti/G10/M4 Millie blowin' in the wind. I'm not one to spread rumors, but that does sound interesting ;) .

In the meantime, just pick up a G10/S30V and use it. S30V is a great steel and takes a lot of abuse. I should have taken pics of my dads S30V millie I gave him after a year of gardening duty. I had him send it to me for a "reconditioning" . He obviously got some serious use out of it (which made me very happy). I would never use my CF/S90V version like that, but that is what a knife is for!

You like it because it's light and grippy, and yet you're trying to decide between the version that has these positive attributes and a more expensive one that doesn't? So do you want the one that has what you like or the one that costs far more? Seems like an easy decision to me, especially since the cheaper one is a better knife, at least as far as the job of being a knife goes.

But does it need to be any stronger than the G10 version? It's already considered a pretty heavy duty knife.

It kind of sounds like you already answered that for yourself.

Are there any positive attributes that might make the Ti more attractive for you? What are its advantages?

Yeah my S90V was more of a collector and carry for the **** of it model. Same would probably happen with the Ti one. I'd get a G-10 one to use use use.

I think it's just for the sake of trying out the "new hotness" the ultimate Military. But you're right there's nothing wrong with the G-10 one it's pretty much ideal.
