FRN UKPK street price & date

#1

Post by araneae »

A certain site has listed the Maroon FRN UKPK at $32.38  with a mid-March date. At that price this is going to be a smash hit for Spyderco. Now as we all now these dates are highly speculative, but I am pretty excited for this one.

I had a quote from Sal in another thread that said it was someplace between 440c and 154cm.

It should be a solid steel for a nice working blade. For that price I think you are right about it's future success!

The prices have been known to be wrong in the past as well.

im pretty stoked about these Delicas coming out, but im almost for sure they arent going to be 33 bucks, it would be nice though. im hoping these will be around the same price as the regular D4s, maybe a little bit more to be more realistic

For that price it would be very hard to pass them up. After playing with a friends orange UKPK rescue i am really becoming a fan of slippies.

thanx zombie eat brains!

so will all models have that nice price tag? all the same steel and handle material but what about the blade design, will it make it more/less money? i was going to get all of them, but now (with that price) i may even get multiples. i have to say i think this model will be the new ten/pers low price high quality spyderco and corner the market. new frn delica....with no lock though :)

I doubt it will stay that price when they get them in stock, then. They show a really low price for products before they get them, and then when they get them in, they raise it.

For example: I was eyeing a Kershaw Junkyard Dog Composite some time ago, and they had listed it for $40. They said they'd be getting them in stock in a couple weeks or so. When they finally got them in stock, the price had been raised to $60.

So if it's YCS listing that amazing price, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I agree with this. I remember a similar situation last year when the Chokwe was about to be released, and a bunch of people pre-ordered it at the price on the website, which was 70-something bucks.
