Determination to Achieve!!!

#1

Post by raven »

Hey All, Want to share a bit of Good News ;) . I received word today that my department will be sending me to Police Sniper School in July  :D !!!

I'd been asking for this training for quite a while now. Have to admit that I was well ...Very Determined and Relentless in my pursuit to get to this training. The time FINALLY presented itself after attending a Tactical Rescue training class this past week. I managed to contact a SWAT Member/Sniper who was also an attending instructor. He gave me a contact and it just so happened that it was here in Colorado for once instead of out of state (department only recognizes local training???). I presented the information to the Boss and got it set up to go to the class along with a spotter.

It'll be a 5 day course/50 hrs and 500 rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Win 168gr match grade ammo ... Woo Hoo :D !!! Waited a Loooooong time to here this news ... Can't Wait. "Shooter Ready"? "Ready". "Send It" ... :D :D :D Take Good Care and Be Safe Always ... Thanks for listening.

God Bless :)

Good job. I'm glad it finally got around to you. I always loved getting paid to shoot and learn stuff at the same time. Like a dream vacation, even the times I had to lay in puddles of water, and get sunburned and chapped lips, getting to know the local insects and stuff. Good times!

Congratulations, Gil! That's really cool. Perhaps one day you might get a chance to participate in the Top Sniper competition they show on the Military Channel.

Hey All, THANK YOU for the kind words and encouragement. I'll keep everyone updated ;) .

Before the Sniper Training, I will also be attending a Magpul Dynamics Carbine 1 and 2 course. This will be in April 3-5. This is a 3 day course and VERY Intense. Those of you that have heard of Magpul or have seen some of their videos (youtube) know what I'm talking about. 2000 rounds of AR-15 ammo and 300 to 500 rounds of pistol/secondary weapon. A LOT of shooting in 3 days  :D  !!! I really look forward to it though ... Maybe there's something wrong with me  :p ??? Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

BTW, I will also be BMX Racing and trying to help plan a wedding in between all of the Tactical Training. It's going to be a long and exciting year :D .

God Bless :)

Sweet deal and congrats.

Im trying to get onto a Bomb Tech course myself. I know the feeling of euphoria when this kind of opportunity presents itself.

I think when you pass, a special Spyderco should be in your future for the achievement.

My Dear Friend,

I wish you a most heartfelt congratulations! :D That is quite the accomplishment, and I am glad you are finally obtaining the goals you have been pursuing so relentlessly.

At the same time, I admit that I am very, very envious. Send a couple downrange for me, my friend! ;)

Congrats, and good luck.

Although I have NO idea what you will be doing (I can imagine the sniper thing "a bit" though, but I've never used a rifle apart from my airguns)) I wish you all the best and loads of fun.

Yeah, having fun doing something and getting paid for that is :D :D :D

Good luck !
