Upgrading steel on UKPK?

I have No problems with Spyderco's VG-10 at all, just to make that clear.

I happen to own a DKPK with CPMS30V, and this blade is probably one of the two or three sharpest in my collection. I like the fact that it is a Slip-it, that the S30V takes such a great edge, I like the G10 and the ergos.

Sharper than that is my new Stretch in ZDP, with the Purple FRN. This has been my edc for the last month or so, wicked sharp, with (for me)even better ergos for cutting. However it is a pocketfull, and the purple, while pretty benign to NKPs, is just ...ok...in my book.

My next purchase is probably going to be a Drop Point UKPK in foliage green. Similar blade shape to the Stretch, G10, a tad smaller in the pocket, and a Slipit...

But boy oh boy, I wish that VG-10 was just a tad...fancier? ZDP would be great, S30V, S90V, D2 or something sexier would be really cool.

What say you? Any chance of this ever happening?

They use s30v on the ukpk knives.

On the urbans they use the vg10 steel

S30V it is then

Ah, ****, I should have clarified...I was wanting the Drop Point UKPK upgraded. I've seen a couple different listings as to the steel in the Drop Point...VG10 and S30V.

Good to know that some already are, maybe I'll need to pick up two, on my next trip.

Thanks for the heads up Jijoel!
