Hello all, seeing h3n4's thread about his dodo lock failing jogged my memory of my own beloved dodo...and its problem.
I've had this dodo for almost a year now, been edcing it for half that time or so, and I believe the lock has officially worn out. The ball is sliding too far forward from when I got it (i bought it used). The distance it travels doesn'nt bother me, but the fact that it seizes up sometimes does. When it does seize, the only way to close it is to take one scale off, which loosens the ball, then reinstall it. I think it does this because it gets jammed too far in between the blade and locking surface above it.

I put together some pics and a short vid. (with my cell phone, sorry for crappy pics) These show how far the ball is when open and how I open the knife.

As you can see, even the slowest, least pressure pushes the ball too far.

What I'm wonderig is, if I send it in, will I get a credit towards another purchase, or will they find a way to fix it? Any help and comments appreciated.

Call them and ask.

Try rubbing the lock contact surfaces with a pencil. Graphite application is often recommend for sticky liner and frame locks. As far as I can tell it doesn't compromise lock integrity.
