Thank you Spyderco!!!
My son, who is in the Marines, has on several occasions entered the drawing for a special Native that Spyderco gives to active duty personnel stationed in Afganistan or Iraq. Well he called today to let me know that he recieved his Native. He was really impressed with the knife and wanted me to thank all of you guys and gals in Colorado.
I too would like to thank you for your support and encouragement of our military and LEOs.
I cannot thank you enough for making this day very special for my son, you guys ROCK!!

Tell your son thanks for his sacrifice. Also thank you for your sacrifice. Our military families don't get the credit they deserve. Having support here at home means a lot to them while over there.

I did 2 tours over there and was fortunate enough to find a OIF Native at the PX in Al Taqaddum by chance. Me and my buddy bought the last 2. He tore his up and lost it. As for me, it's never been used and plan to keep it that way. I didn't know at the time it would become such a rare knife.

your family and son have sacrificed so much. we all cant thank you enough. your son and millions of other make that sacrifice, leaving there families behind so people like us can sit at our computers and type mindlessly about which knife we edc'd or what price we bought something at, your ongoing sacrifice, as well as your sons will never be forgotten. i have a friend who is a little scared of possibly going over but i know he will be fine. :) congratulation and i hope he gets home soon. god bless. i have poor eyesight and was rejected from the air force. i always loved aircraft carriers and wanted to fly falcons and hornets but unless i got (at the time unproven) lasik eye surgery i would have joined. i take pride in the power of our military. the advances in technolgy and the fighting spirit of out troops shows the world the power and resolve of the us armed forces, air, land, and sea. the army makes me proud to be an american, everytime i see i new nimitz class or gerald r ford class cvn-80 plans unvelied i get this warm fuzzy feeling and think.... this is getting drawn out i better stop before i upset a admin. god bless. get home soon

anyway as far as the post goes

i didnt know spyderco still dis this? i thought it was a one time drawing years ago they did as a morale boost. sal and co still actively does that? wow that is so great! sal you are a true patriot and fellow to the average soldier. i must tell my friend (who works for a firm out there -Afghanistan- security company and who is probably excluded as he doesn't serve in regular army) to tell all his buddies so they can re bid or reenter the drawing. they are never on ebay so i am guessing this knife has personal emotions and feelings attached for anyone to sell for profit to us spy collectors/fans. which is understandable though. can i have a little more background on this please, how many were made and given and the steel and specs and maybe some pics, etc. that tan is the tan i want on the new ffg delica. or on any other frn models for that matter, its one of my favorites... again that is so great of you sal, to do this

Thanx Dalerich and pleasae thank your son for his service.

Hi Smoothone,

Thanx for the kind words. We've been sending 50+ OIF/OEF Natives to the Middle East troops every month since the war began. We appreciate our men and women that go into harm's way for our security. I like the way my wife says it:

“There are American troops that will step in front of a bullet to protect people that they’ve never met. How many or your neighbors will step in front of a car to save you? Support our troops”. Gail Glesser
