Tasman Woes

Between my brand new SE Spyderhawk and a PE Crossbill, I'm not sure if I'll ever use the tiny-seeming SE Tasman again for the things I usually use hawkbills for (Waging war on blackberries and other vines, and opening packages)... and since I don't like having a knife if I'm not going to be carrying and using it at least a few times a month, I need to decide if I want to sell it off or take it to a grinder to play with making a blunt-tip Rescue Hawk concept that I've been bouncing around for a few months... or, hmm. I do need a no-maintenance knife to live on my climbing harness... Decisions, decisions.
Seriously... the Spyderhawk is awesome, and I haven't even had a chance to really put it to work yet.
I'm tempted to buy a few more and dress up as a Velociraptor for Halloween. :p

I have been wanting a spyderhawk for a long time, but the yellow frn is delaying the purchase. If it came in black or blue, I would have it in my pocket now. So, the Tasman will have to do for a while more

Leave it in your car/backpack/manpurse/first aid kit or something.

I just received my sheath for my Spyderhawk today from Mike Sastre and it is amazing! It is going to go onto my weight belt for diving. I like your idea of using the Tasman as a climbing harness knife. It would live there quite nicely (perhaps with a sheath).

RIT DYE THE SPYDERHAWK IT WORKS GREAT til you scratch it on something really hard. I had to dye mine twice but it looks factory. I'd post pics if i could but i can't. Also if you buy an SE spyderhawk DON'T TRY TO CUT A MICHELIN PILOT SPORT in half with it. I'm semi regretting that right now h-1 Bends like crazy. Had to torture test it a little. As for the rescue hawk i've been thinking about that myself. The hawkbill would pull the seatbelt into the cut and if you dull it it wouldn't puncture the skin just i don't wanna kill my SE spyderhawks point.

SAVE IT!!... and later you'll be glad you did... or, you'll just buy another one. I'm all for mods, but I just rebought a Tasman PE and it's now my favourite knife - who'da thought? (I modded the first one into a Wharnie and love it

).
- best wishes, Jazz.

Exactly. Emerson makes one (The SARK), but it doesn't come in a fully serrated version like I want... not to mention I don't like the wave.
