I understand if somebody would need a second piece as backup, but 3/4/5 or even more from a limited production quantity for one person

Ok, you can tell me that you want to gift the knives. But nobody wrote that.
Ahhhh, I should clarify. Of the four or five I plan on getting, one will be for me and the others for friends and family who saw my S90V mule that I built handles for and wanted one, but were put off by the $100 price tag (knife and handle materials). But at $40 (completed), I can afford to gift them to my friends and family. So no hording here! ;) Just some good ol' fashioned sharing of a one-of-a-kind, built just for them, hopefully done by Christmas gift.

Great price, I love the mule team blades...I just wish I was around for the first one. :(

This will go good with my RC69million ZDP...I wish I had an s90v tho! :(

I'm getting a few for improving my handle-making skill (I was somehow reluctant to put my first tries at micarta handles on the 52100 mule and on a CPM-M4 one. $20 mule is a different story), and maybe sell or give away the ones I make handles for.

You hoard them because he who dies with the most knives wins! :D :D

Affordability is a fine quality in a steel, and a knife.

I have not gotten been able to buy one since the first Mule in 52100. This one I'll get and order or make some scales to go with it.

"600 – 1000 pieces "

So, is this one going to be 1000 pieces?

Or more?

Will this one be made in China, or a Chinese steel fashioned in Golden?

Chinese steel made in China.

Cool, that should be a great test then for how the Chinese heat treat the new steel.

NICE. unlimited ordering is ok, and $20 each??? sounds like a great gift option... get some paracord to do cord-wrap handles, and kydex for some DIY sheath-makin'... perfect for xmas!

To Spyderco : I suggest reconsidering a short-time knife number limit (1 week for example, where you can only purchase 2 or 3 knives ?)

As much as I'd like to order more than 2 or 3, I would like to be sure to be able to order at least 2.

I think that a $20 Spyderco fixed blade will certainly attract more people than the previous MT knives, and will certainly have at least the same success towards regular MT buyers.

The forum knife has been a recent experience of what I'm talking about, even if a lot of factors are different for the MT05.

Wow, great price! Thanks guys. This will be a good handle-making practice knife with good potential for gift-giving. I'll have to keep one for myself, though. ;)

We're not yet sure what to do with them. It seems that they are all pretty hard, 65-66. The hardness worked on the folders but not on the fixed blades. Too much mass, we think.

There have been some that have asked for the hard blades as they are. We are trying to find an effective way to reduce the Rc.

Thanks Sal.

Am still not sure if its really a problem? Or if its only effecting a small % of the run.
Have (2) ZDP Mules sitting in their box's waiting for the outcome.

Will wait and see........... :spyder:

I know a lot of people like small fixed blades (like the RAT Izula) for their BOB/go-bag, vehicle glovebox, etc.

My first thought was that I might pick up 3-4 of these for that sort of use. At $20 each, it won't be a lot of money tied up in a knife that will only get rarely used.
