Hi Everybody,

i read a couple of Days in this Forum and will try my first Post now. It's a nice Community, objective Posts and friendly association here and this is what i like. My Home Country is Germany, so please forgive my English.

In the Future if maybe a Post from me looks like a affront or defamation, so let me Know and we can determine misstakes. But I hope it will not happen. Every Day (since 4-5 Months) I'm learning English in constantly watching English / American Series Productions like CSI, NCIS etc.. In my Opinion it's easier to understand than writing or speaking. It's all a Matter of Practice

It all begans 2-3 Years ago. In Search of a good EDc the First Way was eBay. Looking for Folders. Saw the Spyderco's (heard the Brand sometimes, somewhere couple a Years ago) and thought *Holy Crap, what a ugly expensive Knife..* (so I bought a Low-Budget S&W Knife, never used it).

Four Weeks ago, I went in a Fishing- and Knife-Shop in Hope to find out a new good or perfect EDc. I asked for Spyderco and he had a lot. Not the biggest assortment but some good ones. So I purchased an Endura 4 FRN for 95€. In the Evening during watching TV..Click, Click, Click, flipping the Knife. Amazing, Ok I'm Single, so I can do this.

How could I buy a S&M Knife..

It's really nice Quality and i knew this one wasn't the last one. I read in forums about Spyderco and different Models, looking at Youtube some Reviews and so on. Five Days ago, I got the Persistence. A very nice Low-Budget Knife, perfect Optic and Haptic. In the Evening during watching TV, the same Game. The Liner-Lock a have bit more solid Sound. I love it.

Yesterday I purchase the Caly3 G-10. I think, anybody knows the *Must Have* Feeling. You see it, handle it, buy it. For the next Month's it will be the last one. I have to save Money for the Captain or Kukhuri, Manix or Civilian or another nice one. I think the next one is the Manix, that's heavy, nice and..it's a Spyderco.

Welcome to the addiction because it sounds like you're hooked. I first bought a Tenacious 5 months ago and that opened the door to a full blown addiction.

Welcome. I laughed especially at the quote above. It reminds me of two experiences at a drum shop I used to frequent. Each time I saw a drum set and exclaimed, "My God, that's the ugliest drum set I've ever seen." I ended up buying both, 60's red satin flame Slingerland and new gold marine pearl Yamaha Hipgig, and they were the best sets I've ever had - still have the Slingerland.

With Spyderco, I too was put off by the odd looks at first. After enough experience, I now want the oddest looking ones most of all because I know they are the result of particularly thoughtful design - just ordered the Caspian and Rock Salts.

He's Dead serious...these knives are an addiction.Spyderco is the most unique, inventive, customer involved company out there, and it just takes one to start a bad addiction :D

But it's also a great way to spend your money and free-time.
WELCOME and enjoy as many great knives as you can!!

Welcome to the forum and your new addiction to Spyderco Roland. The people you will hopefully converse with here are very friendly and know a lot about blades of all kinds. If you have a question by all means please ask it.

If you don't mind me saying, perhaps you may want to buy a Sharpmaker next. Spyderco does sharpen thier knives for free but that means you have to send them away. The Sharpmaker was the perfect addition to my own collection a few months ago. I am extremely happy with it.

If not, I recommend the Manix :spyder: s they are very good, strong knives.

P.S. your English is very good. Consider me impressed. :)

Hey Roland. I'm new too. I will be uploading pics and vids soon. There are 37 Spyderco's I own, I will do a group shot then individual shots after work. Enjoy the forum Roland, I know I am.

PS. Sal I just wanted to say I heard nothing but good things about you and the way you run your business and your customer service. Everyone I talk to says you have that personal touch that no other knife company has. You personalize the Spyderco experience like no other. And because of that the entire Internet and anyone you ask who is in the know will say something like this (paraphrase what my long time friend said about his initial impression of Sal.... who knows if he really knows Sal personally like he said he did but the message is clear) "Sal hasn't changed since the beginning. I knew him when he and his wife were selling ceramic sharpeners out of the back of his car up and down the California coast. He was a man of his word then and he is a man of his word now. You will not find another CEO who acts the way Sal does. He has the utmost respect for other companies and their practices and has been a mainstay in the cutlery business for years and years and you will see Sal's Spydero knives well into the future."
(sal i am just repeating this, if it is not true then let me know so i can tell my freind he is full of BS and promptly apoligize to you)
^
A knife seller and retailer I know had this to say last week. So far he seems to be spot on. I am glad Sal takes the time to go one-on-one with the customers and ask for their feed back and you know when you give it to him it is not being wasted. He values it. This is getting long. I better wrap it up. Bottom line is this. I love Spyderco knives, and having Sal as the CEO just makes it easier to love. Thanks for everything. Mark
