protos - where'd they go after the production?

Folks! What actually happens to a prototype blade for a new model after it saw production? Will it be : a) Given away as a prize in contest b) Kept for future posterity at Spyderco's hall of fame c) Auctioned away for a good cause? or d) destroyed? Thanks for replying this thread!

I think they should be sent somewhere for safe keeping in case of some apocalyptic catastrophe, somewhere on the other side of the world, perhaps, maybe somewhere like Australia <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Sam. usually they're kept for the museum which will be going up at the outlet store. Occassionally, when we make several, we may auction one off for Childredn's Hospital.
