Has never been offerred that way. It's always had the Police style swedged and saber ground blade. There would have to be another run of them, no idea what the chances of that might be.

Nice and thin, super EDC.

2 Rookie questions

1. On the Spyderco WWW site the Rookie is a C51FG, on the box I have the label states = C51GPFG. What does GP stand for?

2. On the labels on Spyderco boxes on the right side are 2 letters . what do the letters stand for?

I tried to find a Spyderco terminology listing but could not locate one.

TIA

I posted this in the pictures forum a couple of days ago. Hope it helps...
cobrahawk wrote:I love the G-10 Rookie! I like it so much I got two of them in case something happens to the first one. I live in an urban environment so size is always a factor. This knife while being ultra thin has the same length of blade as the Delica 4. Since Spyderco only put a liner on one side of the handle it's super thin and light. Fits very comfortably in the pocket. All in all it's the perfect EDC for me. It's taken the place of my Caly 3 CF which now feels big in comparison. The thumb hole is a little on the small side and I have big thumbs but if I get my thumbnail in there it snaps out very quickly. The only other gripe I have is I wish that they had moved the clip all the way to the end and not had the lanyard hole because as it is it sticks out a little farther out of my pocket than I'd like but I guess you can't have everything. I just stuck a lanyard on there and pull on that if I need to get it out of my pocket.

Some pics next to my ZDP Delica 4.

Date code, first letter is month, second year. A=1, L=12, and so forth.

I had Tom Krein regrind my G10 Rookie back in July during the A G Russell show in Arkansas. It has not left my pocket since. His work is amazing! Joe
