I love the looks of the knife - its nearly perfect - but, I'd want it in a lock-back. Is that in the works?
Can the clip be moved up a bit more for deeper carry?
While I'm at it, I wonder what a tip-grind like that on the xm-18 would look like on that knife?? Humm... :D

Sal said no plans at this time for a locking version. No real need for one as is, but I wouldn't say no to a locking version to go with my bob t slippie

How about a classic sized Bob T knife?
Really like his colab with MT.
Food for thought..............

No interest in it myself, I like the Stretch too much, but don't think a lockback would be feasible. Blade tang would have to be extended too far. Liner or framelock would probably work. Definitely not interested in one of those as it would inevitably be wrong handed. Moving the clip further back would be difficult, in addition to extending the milled cutout it sits in, you'd need to extend the liners which the clip screws into as well. As for the blade, I prefer mine plain and simple. I'd rather see a plain full flat grind with no swedge grind. The XM-18 blade looks way to busy for my tastes.

I don't think the Bob T really needs a lock, it has enough tension that unless you are being an idiot the blade won't close on you.

You got that right, even with out your finger in the choil the knife is not going to snap shut easily, its perfect the way it is. I believe this knife is a corner stone of more slipits to come. :spyder:

I agree that this knife is very, very well designed and does not really need much tweaking. I did just send one off to SantaFe Stoneworks to get the clip inlets filled, but that is just cosmetic. Functionally, the knife is #1.

I was thinking of sanding off the lanyard eyelet, just hope I don't bugger it up doing it though. :p

I would like to see more Colab's with Bob T. He has several great designs.
All larger than the Slip-it.
Talked to him last year at a knife show, super nice guy.

Just use some 400 grit wet/dry that is wet and go slow. I did mine and it looks like it came that way, only took me about 5 mins to do it as well.

did mine last night as well, too sharp in the pocket, and I never use lanyards. Was very easy, looks good.

Did mine about an hour ago. Cut off the lanyard eyelet with a dremel cut-off wheel and made her smooth with some 880 grit. Looks great.

This knife works better with a lanyard. :D

Whew, I was beginning to think I was the only one not hating the lanyard loop. Do think the lanyard that comes with the knife is a bit on the cheapo side, but I look at it like the picture in a frame I'm buying. Yours, on the other hand, is quite attractive.

I don't mind the lanyard loop at all. However, I have not found the lanyard itself to be very useful. This knife has plenty of handle to grab when deploying or to hold while using. I like it. Perhaps I should look for a more ornamental lanyard and try it out.

I've seen the ornamental lanyards and like my result fine.
For this knife the lanyard also adds weight at the end... And for me, besides the added weight, it aids griping for my sized hand.
The original lanyard is true ornamental. Its looks are what they are.
