Today was the day I was suppose to get my 2 usn enduras that were bought for me for my b- day. So I track my package today threw ups.com and I get the message that they were unable to deliver my package and they will reattempt tomorrow. I am so mad I could KILL the lazy mother F%#R who said i was not home. Now I'm going to have to be late to work tonight because I can't wait any longer, I'm driving down to the office to pick up the package in person. I'm sure everyone here feels my pain, I just needed to vent a little as this is a ongoing problem with ups.

Whoa! Just take a deep breath there and relax. You'll still get your knives. I know it's a bit frustrating, but remember "shiny footprints". They're great knives and I hope you enjoy them.

I live all the **** the way in Hawaii. Shipping here RAPES me. I just ordered the last BG42 Millie from SFO two days ago, and its supposed to arrive tomorrow, Excellent service on behalf of SFO but we cant get next day delivery here on ANYthing shipped from anyone. Its all two day air, and im one impatient person when it comes to this stuff LOL. I, comrad, FEEL your pain. IN addition to that, the lowest cost ive ever payed for 2 day air, was 20 bucks. Try tacking on 20 buck + to all your orders you all get living in the CONUS, youd be madder than a bag of rattlesnakes.

Not to worry you, but when the latest batch of SWICKs first came out I ordered one for a buddy. Checked the tracking number daily. Was home all day the day it was scheduled for delivery. No knife, no notice, next day it shows as "attempted delivery/rescheduled" for 2 days later. Week later, still hasn't shown up and now shows as an "exception". Contact SFO, they contact UPS, determine knife is lost, send me a another one, which arrives a week later. Two weeks after that, the first one shows up. And folks wonder why I say I'll pay extra if they'll ship by USPS. The best I can say about UPS around here is that FEDEX is even worse.

Funny, when I was working in shipping up in WA, FedEx was great. UPS often had dirty and smashed packages, but not so with FedEx. In fact, we always used to joke that the reason everything UPS was brown was because it hides all the dirt. My hands would always be dark brown, almost black, after unloading our UPS shipment. But at least the packages usually showed up. I wish I could have said the same for DHL! There's a reason their domestic shipping went belly up!

If I had to rate them, I'd say that DHL is the worst, UPS is OK, and FedEx is great (but a bit pricy). We didn't ship via USPS, but in my personal shipping, I've never had a problem that I can recall.

Hm that is interesting. With all the orders I've placed, UPS has been great. And I've placed lots of online orders (not just knives). I don't really live in an area like Cali though so my UPS delivery guys probably aren't terribly busy.

Hey Deacon nice to hear from you. Here is a update I called ups and I was told they have my package and I could pick it up between 8:30 and 9:30. No idea why the driver was unable to deliver but I do know this it's not the first time.

USPS is the only way to go.Not near as long a delivery time, and they will put it in your mail box.

Gotta love shipping companies...

I prefer DHL myself, stuff comes to their office about 5min from my work. I just stop in and pay the fees when they call me on my cell. They know me well enough in there I don't need ID anymore

USPS drops in the normal mail box, or pickup from the postoffice about 2km away if I have to sign for it or pay.

FEDEX and UPS will just drop packages on the door if they don't need a signature or fees. I have 4 schools within 2km of here, which means a couple thousand kids walking by before I get home from work. Guess what that means  Lost a few packages before they stopped that.
At least if I owe them anything or have to sign it gets dropped at the same location as USPS.

Just picked up my usn enduras from ups. These knives are freaking nice, I loved the look on the everyones face when I pulled out my military flicked out the blade with a loud snap and slashed the box open while I was walking out talking to myself.

In fairness, we are talking three organizations whose personnel, and thus their quality of service, can differ tremendously from place to place. Here, the PO is great, but I've lived places where mail went missing on a regular basis. Same deal with UPS, and I'm sure with FEDEX. So there's no universal answer to the best/worst question, one just has to hope they can get things shipped the way that works best for them.

Paul, I'm sure you are right but I generally hear better opins of USPS, pretty much across the board.

I've not had any real issues with any of them, personally but I will generally choose USPS. Prefer stuff go in the box when it can.

And Donovan.... that's just one of the taxes you pay for living in paradise! ;)

Aloha!

My experience with UPS has been generally good except about 6 months ago they lost 2 packages within a 2 week span. One package had a new Police G10 FG and the other one had a G10 Rookie. One package was tracked up to the UPS distribution center and that's where it disappeared. Some UPS worker has a nice Police. The other package made it on board the truck but was never delivered. Another UPS worker has a nice Rookie. UPS told me that if the tracking info says that it will deliver on a certain day and it does not arrive, CALL UPS. There is definitely something wrong. I filed a complaint that there was something fishy going on at that distribution center but I don't think it got anywhere. Maybe they fired someone but they didn't tell me. Had to get the seller to initiate claims to UPS and eventually everything was settled. I eventually got another Police and Rookie but what if it was a discontinued model like the Yojimbo, Lum tanto, Lil Temperance, etc., you'd have a harder time replacing it.

I've had the same UPS driver for over 7 years. He is a great guy and often stops to visit with Finn.

He has looked out for me on so many occasions I can't count. He remembers me from when I worked gunshows selling knives so every time I buy a bunch of knives near gunshow time he asks if I will be working.

I gave him a decent knife for christmas a few years back. I guess that just sealed the deal as he already was a great guy as far as I'm concerned.

USPS on the other hand is mediocre at best, often not trying to deliver when I'm home waiting, and putting the card in the mailbox.

I've gotten to the point I'll even pay more to send stuff UPS. I just trust them more. Joe

I just ordered the last BG42 Millie from SFO two days ago, and its supposed to arrive tomorrow,
huh? What? I'm about to overload..... too much to compute!

Something going on I'm not aware of? This is like saying you just watched the Titanic pull into it's dock at NY harbor. Or, the aliens have landed on the whitehouse lawn. What's going on?

I would have bought it years ago if I knew they had one!

Donovan, I always ask any website I order from to just send it USPS. Most of the time they can just stick it in a flat rate box. Knives sent priority mail get here pretty quick and cost not as much as you would think. A lot of websites only have UPS options (so you are stuck with 2 day air) but if you actually call them up they usually will switch it over to USPS for you.
