S90v FFG CF C101CF90VP2 Manix 2
I do not believe we have talked about this one nearly enough.
To me, its a pretty big deal.
So, here it is.
Another thread to more or less just say thanks.
Mine will be here Wed/Thurs.
My only hope is, I don't regret NOT getting (2).
Eric, can you give any info on the next variation?
Is there another in the works? Black Micarta M4?
Or will it be a full sized model after its released?
2010?
Thanks again!

Thanks, I see one seller on the Bay right now with reasonable prices.($174.95) He hasn't sold anything in a year and recently got a negative. Does anyone know this seller, he recently listed a total of (10) FFG S90v Manix's :eek:MCM wrote:From Roger, at the place where knife's work.
They are also on the bay right now at fair buy it now prices.
I think these will sell out fast...............
Not sure if all 400 have been shipped though?
Anyone?
Sounds fishy to me.

"How is the lock on the Mannix"
I only have the orig (2) back lock Manix, and ball lock's.
This will be my 1st caged ball lock.

It's quite nice! I'm a big fan of the regular full sized BBL (Phoenix, Dodo etc). I find that the easiest lock to manipulate, strong, reliable etc....DJ wrote:How is the lock on the Mannix ?? ...............dj
When I got the M2 Saturday, I had a lot of trouble releasing it one handed. Felt like it was binding or something. Wound up trying to figure out a thumb&forefinger way (and kinda did) but decided to return to just thumb like the BBLs and, after an hour or so, it's working fine. Still prefer the BBL to the CBBL but the CBBL works just fine.

Am sure all 400 have not shipped. At the very least, given that the numbered "original recipe" Manix 2 only shipped last week, the "all variant" CC#d pieces of this run will probably not ship for another month or three.
At least in the past, Spyderco has always tried their best to distribute limited production models in an equitable manner. I could be wrong, but considering the number of dealers Spyderco has, I can't really see any one dealer having received 10 out of 400 knives. At best, I think anyone offering ten is selling based on the assumption they'll get all they've ordered and will wind up giving a lot of refunds. At worst, given the stock photo and the fact it's the seller's first listing in six months, it could very well be a total scam.

Over time I have come to like the stronger feel and overall action of the CBBL over the Axis. Axis locks are fine, but due to the springs light tension they don't inspire same feeling of strength and security in closed retention or lock engagement. I also trust the coil spring design over the sometimes troubled omega springs.
Mine finally arrived after UPS misplaced it for a day.
I'm very impressed with the knife. I handled a Manix 2 last week and the CF Manix 2 is significantly lighter. Mine arrived shaving sharp and the FFG blade looks great. Only issue I have noticed so far is that hole in the CF for the lanyard tube is not 100% perfect. There is a little bit of chipping around the edges. Otherwise, everything looks great. Can't want to start using it as my EDC.
