Grey
-or-
whatever shade of green it is that you used on the C69 Lil' Temperance. Love that green. I know it's G-10 but that green seems to really do it for me. Because when I look at it, I know it's green. When I look at the foliage green knives, sometimes it's green, sometimes it looks tan, sometimes it looks grey. Green should be green.

I love the idea of FFG!

Color wise, I like the muted tones, like coyote brown, Flat dark earth, OD, etc.

Is it possible to have clear handles? If so maybe a quote or a picture in the handle. It would be neat if the E.L.U. could insert their own pictures or logos and change them out when they wanted to. Joe

Sal, the entire automotive world screams for dark "gunmetal" gray which is almost more of a graphite. I would like a shade similar to this or even the standard FRN gray from the Caly Jr.

I'm partial to pastel colors myself,
I'd like to see a sky blue, or a light yellow.

sal -- check out this book... :D

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Colours-Koolhaa ... 3764365692

as far as my own ideas for new FRN colors...

-- very light green (the color of "old man's beard" moss)
-- something like patagonia's "pirate blue"
-- something like arcteryx's "everglade"
-- a deep red, the color of merlot

Full Flat Grind would be awesome!

I vote for metallic gray, yellow and a bright brown/tan

Hi Sal,
I think that Coyote brown, desert tan, dark grey and olive drab would be nice options (at least to me ;) .
Thanks a lot.

The way I see it is that since black handled saber ground knives are the best selling, if you introduce a FFG blade with a funky color, the EUL (non-afi's) will almost always choose the better looking knife (black saber ground) when given the choice between the two. Therefore, the handle color for the FFG blade should be something conservative. Something with equal appeal to non-afi's as black is. Just my opinion...

As for what colors I'd chose I have no idea which colors are left that would fit in with my idea  Although personally I'd take a toxic green FFG Endura ;)

Awesome project. I hate dull colors, you only live once, why put up with dullness in your life. So my choices are

Toxic Green
Orange
Bright Blue
and I would say Red but that is for trainers only, so I'll say Teal instead

What demographic are you looking to penetrate or avoid ?

SAK Red..it has that whole handyman non-threatening vibe. It is also one of the best selling colors for iPod, iPhone covers and the Motorola Razr. It's also an appetite stimulant

Another that is popular with the above attributes is burnt orange or sienna.

I was also wondering why Spyderco never markets a Realtree or other foliage camo pattern.

Gray, or subdued colors like brown. Nothing bright or toxic.

In order to test reacton without changing the current models, Eric would like to make some Endura and Delica models with full flat grinds (VG-10) but use some new colors to distinguish them from the current models. Odd colors that we've not used, maybe 3 or 4.

I know most of you ar afi's, but our interest is in what the "general" market might like.

I need your input on 3 or 4 colors with which to test these flat ground versions.

What an awesome idea on the FG blade. As far as the colors go, I would have one or two that were bright and two more traditional colors. You could meet the needs of both markets with traditional and non traditional color varieties.

Bright:

Neon green (think USN Endura)
Orange

Traditional:

Coyote brown or tan

Burgundy (think old Calypso)

Grey (charcoal)

On a side note, I would buy one of everything you put out sal. I love the Endura and Delica. No matter what Spyderco I buy, I always find myself coming back to these two models.
