Do you like this? A waved Delica with the wave removed

#1

Post by Fred Sanford »

This photo is from TadGear so I do want to give them credit.

I didn't do an awesome editing job but I wanted to see what a D4 Wave would look like without the wave and just a nice rounded top of the hole.

I like it so much I'm considering getting a wave D4 and having this done. :)

Whatcha think?

I've thought about it before, and the picture confirms that I like it. A flat grind might be nice too...

I guess I could always purchase a regular D4 in VG-10 and have it ground like that. That way it would be cheaper than the wave. :)

Doesn't that knife just have the normal flat saber grind as the regular D4?

Well, looks better that way than when waved, but personally I'd hold out for an FRN Stretch II. Similar blade shape but half an inch longer, full flat grind, 50/50 choil, ZDP if you want it, and the VG-10 version will probably be cheaper than a waved Delica plus the mod.

It looks very nice in deed.

It reminds me of another spydie, maybe discontinued, but the blade shape does ring a bell.

The Wave is a nice feature, but these knives are readily available, so it wouldn't be exactly blasphemy to customize one of them like that :)

At least, you would turn out having a one-of-a-kind Delica. If you like it and can do the mod by yourself (or afford it being done), go for it!

I think it looks a bit like a Worker, Executive, and Michael Walker hybrid.

That Delica looks friendly/cheery. I like it and it reminds me on the Executive, yes it does.
