Khukuri thoughts and pictures please

#1

Post by spyderHS08 »

I have been looking at the khukuri for some time now and I wanted to see what you guys think..
Things I like about the knife from looking at it-color, I dont have a fg g10 spyder yet, its a different style blade which will be a nice addition, and I really like ffg blades. I also love the pocket clip! I wish they would do that gold spyder on more knife clips (I guess its an Ed thing lol) . but Im not sure about the angle of the blade and the "thin" handle. I hope you guys dont mind giving your input :)
Thanks to all who reply!
Also any pics or comparison pics would be awesome!

I love the khukuri. I usually carry two knives, one being the khukuri and I rotate the other. The blade angle is what makes the knife so great, it puts the belly right into what ever you wanna cut. The thin handle is awesome because it disappears in your pocket and is so comfy.

Here are a few pics. No real side to side but you can kinda get the idea of the size.

That would be cool, thank you. Because Ive actually got a para so it will be more realistic in comparison for me. :)

I got the Khukuri a couple of days ago and it is a great knife and a useful EDC.

If you want a really good review, watch Tricods review on youtube if you haven't already, I found it helpful seeing it in hand and he makes some very good points.

It's one of those knives that impresses the heck out of you when you get it in your hands, a big thanks to Mr Schempp, I like the khukuri so much I ordered a mini Persian!

I like the Khukri a lot! Not only is it a well made blade but it is also a physiologically sound design. The blade angle just feels more natural and comfortable during use. I talked to Mr. Schempp about this at Blade and got a much better understanding of why his knives so often have similar angles. When the blade is angled it falls in line with how the arm, wrist and hand line up to make a cut in relation to the rest of the body. The thin handle also gives you a high level of comfort and control, as well as ease of carry that mcharb007 mentioned above.

The khukuri is a shade thinner than the para but it is a tiny difference.

I handled a khukuri on a whim at a B&M store and I was blown away how it felt in hand. Now if it just had a low ride wire clip I would be all over it.
