I really liked my R2, only the tip was not pointy enough so I had STR flatten it out to a splinter picker tip. Maybe something like that with a pointy tip, thin edge (.015" or less) and an ambi wire clip? Ooh, the lightweight, high cutting performance ergonomic possibilities there are really making me feel all happy inside. Or maybe that feeling is from the post back surgery pharmaceuticals? I would still like a knife like that, though, esppecially if ZDP 189 was used.

True, but as long as Kristi's amused, rather than annoyed, by the speculation, what's the harm. :D

Thinking maybe Chris might be on the right track with his guess.

As for me, guess I take the opposite tack from most. I view the Forum engraved knives as collectibles, not users, so I'd be just as happy if this years offering is a model which I would not otherwise consider purchasing.

I just hope that the forum mark goes beyond a regular engraving. If it's gonna be a model from Golden, perhaps a different color material or other minor modification to the blade, grind or clip would make it truly unique.

+1 on this.
For me this more important than the model. Bug on the handle, the way it was on Milly and Vesuvius will be greatly appreciated.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I agree with that. That would be real cool even if it didn't have anything engraved on it but it was purely a unique knife that could not be had elsewhere.

Then again.......since this will be my first forum knife, it could be a piece of corn on the cob for all I care as long as it cuts. :D

Well, assuming the Spydiecrew doesn't already have it in the works for this year, perhaps for next...

We know tan FRN handles exist for the C41 Native, they're used on the OIF Natives. We know black blades exist for the C41 Native, it's a regular production item when combined with a black FRN handle. Do you see where this is going... ;)

...given my normal attitude toward black blades, I find it almost amazing I'm saying this, :o but a black bladed tan handled C41 Native would make a rather unique Forum knife. :D

I like the Chokwe and Deacon's idea for black blade/tan handle FRN Native.

Im in no matter what it is, there hasn't been a forum knife since i joined. :(

But..

If it is an Endura, i sure hope its has a flat grind.

Cranberry C-Lum w/ a black blade would be my choice :D or a Tanto Lum mmmmm I hope its a larger knife, But as i said im in for whatever. :spyder: :spyder:

Thats a pretty good guess.

Taz said that its will be something a little different this year. A Fixed blade is a little different.

I already have a Swick, but that's one of the few knives I wouldn't mind buying another as a forum knife (with the Calypso/Caly/UKPK family). It's such a great knife!

I'm eager to know what model has been chosen as well!

A black/tan Native would look fantastic. I would love to see one in production, period.
