I have been around, but now I am much easier to spot. :)
Family is doing well and is scheduled to grow in March.
Please give Gail, Eric and the crew our best!

I had no issues ordering online, also from Japan and to Japan.whkento wrote:I'm trying to order a couple, but can't get it to work online. I tried to call the SFO, but due to time zones, I guess I called a few minutes too late (I'm in Japan). Please don't sell 'em all before I can get it figured out!
What exactly was the problem? Did you input correct CC data?
My order just went in through the website, no problem.
Got so busy this week, that I just got it in. Is it too early to ask about the next Mule?
In all seriousness, thanks to everyone at Spyderco for making this project happen. It's a great knife and I really like playing with the different steels. It also gives many of the more creative members here an outlet for their skills. I've seen some really nice pictures and a lot of good ideas.

42 Spyderco fixed blades and counting...
Used my M4 several times in the shop today and the S90Vs arrived just in time to cut up my apple.
I missed the first two (bought a factory 2nd M4), but I'm surprised that the S90V didn't sell out the first day. The description talks about a 600 piece run and the combination of a more generally desirable steel and allowing purchase of three instead of two means that you only need a few hundred buyers.
I'm guessing that they either produced more, or we're seeing the effects of the recession.
Fun trivia: Hoover coined the term "depression" rather than using "recession" so the downturn wouldn't sound so bad.

My three MT03s arrived today. Awesome!
Is it just me or does the steel have a goldish hue? Not that that is bad at all, just an observation. I compared it to my S90V Military just to make sure it wasn't the light. Also, the flats of the blade seem to have less machine marks than either my S90V Military or M4 MT02s. These Mules are going to make for some highly desirable knives out there. I hope my meager handle making skills can do these blades justice. On the docket: Carbon Fiber, Micarta (the beater ), and Desert Ironwood.
Thanks again Sal for giving us this truly unique opportunity!

More popular steel, for sure. Certainly not more desirable in my book. Since I'm in Mexico for a month and don't have internet access that's even vaguely secure, I'm going to wait until I get home to try to order mine. Hope there's one left! Even a second would be fine by me, they're beaters anyway. At least I'd rather miss out on this one than either of the first two, so I'm not fretting(too much). Que sera, sera.

The problem, exactly, is that I'm an idiot. Not only did I forget my login ID, I overstimulated the economy (aka spent too much) with my credit card last month. I think it's all straightened out now.imatyssik wrote:I had no issues ordering online, also from Japan and to Japan.

Many thanks to Rachel at the SFO for her patience and help. :) :) :)
I had a similar problem with my plastic as well. :)whkento wrote:The problem, exactly, is that I'm an idiot. Not only did I forget my login ID, I overstimulated the economy (aka spent too much) with my credit card last month. I think it's all straightened out now.
