420HC?

What is 420HC? Is this the same steel as 420 modified? Thanks.

420HC is 420 High Carbon, a generally inexpensive steel. It's not a bad steel, but tends to really fall in performance whwn compared with any higher types like BG-42, VG-10, any of the ATSs or CPMs.

I believe it's different than 420 modified, but this could be different names for the same steel.
