Denmark Pen Knife - I Finally Got One

I went to the Spyderco Factory Outlet store yesterday and finally got the Denmark PK. Ever since I picked up a UKPK, I'd been wanting one of these.

The woman who works at the SFO is so nice - I wish I'd asked what her name was. She had four in stock, and offered to take them all out for me to pick one from.

I haven't actually done aything with it, besides look at it. I think I've found my new EDC. Anyone else carry one of these around?

 DKPK then? I agree, the Caly3-shape is one of my favorite too. Very functional and yet non-traditional looking.

I am curious what are the differences between a DKPK and a UKPK? In fact, shouldn't the Danish version be made in orange too?

With Aloha,

Clarence

Differences:

DKPK has a shorter blade length and the hole in the blade isn't a hole for opening one handed. Whole knife is designed to fulfill law in Denmark.

If I could find one, I'd carry one. For now it's "" just" my UKPK.

I even went to Denmark to look for one, but alas... (nah, went there for the holidays. I figured that finding a DKPK would make a perfect holidaygift for well, myself ;) ).

IIRC it's a tad smaller in length, and the hole is not a one-hand opener. Just a good knife to have I think, nice and small and sharp (probably !).

Good buy !

\edit: Peter beat me to it ! :)

Great find. I don't think they made that many to start with and I'm surprised they had any new ones left over; figured they were all long gone.

I've got a few pics from the DPK passaround (which can be found here, too)

Back then, we should take pics of the knife in our country in typical surroundings (for the country, that is ;-)). It was fun, but the project died down because we lost the knife (2 of them actually) in transit. It was fun though.... worth a look IMO.

These are some of the pics I took:

It was a VERY interesting knife and what led me to buy a UKPK AND two Caly's :-)
strange how some knives fascinate you, although you would have never thought so when just looking at the specs and pics. Happened to me again later with the H1 Mariner.

The one in my pics is a special passaround knife, if you're talking about MY pics :)

Yours will most likely look as in the first pic.

P.S.: If ANYBODY sees a DPK with this writing on the blade, I'd be interested where the "new owner" picked the knife up... because one was lost in transit from me to Hungary. That was very disappointing.... and the second knife seems to be lost too to boot, don't even know what happened to that one :(

So two of them are somewhere out there and don't belong where they are. Hopefully the cut the thieves BALDY

Enjoy your new DPK, it is a fun little knife and the one that started the :spyder: SLIPIT world together with the UKPK.
