Are any of you as excited as I am about the JD Smith Collaboration? Does any know when it will be available?

I've come to love the splinter picker tip of the military and the JD has an even pointier tip, attached to what seems to be the narrowest 'humpless' blade possible :D
as for a release date, maybe Taz could shed some light...

What always amazed me about the JD Smith model was that the Spine was pretty thick almost all the way to the point.

I liked the Original C-58 JD Smith. I wish they would make one with screw construction so it could be taken apart.

But I'm still anxious to see what this new one will be like. Even the older ATS-34 version was one **** of a folder.

oh yea... i've got an older, serrated smith in ATS-34. i'll be psyched to pick up a VG10 + G10 PE one for daily use... :D

I don't have an ETA from Golden, but I hope it will be soon. I have an original PE in VG-10. I love the design and ergonomics, but the micarta (too slippery for me), saber grind and right hand tip down only clip keep me from carrying and using it.

The sprint run addresses all these issues; G-10, full flat grind, 4-way clip. Dark blue G-10 would make it perfect, but I don't mind FG at all. I really think this may be THE one :spyder: for me.

I'm waiting anxiously for this folder.

catamount, we seem to be in agreement about the smith as well as the barong. :D

i'll be looking forward to making a G10 smith a regular in my EDC rotation... :D

I am also very much looking foward to the JD Smith Sprint run.

Even though its in FG, I will still buy 1 maybe 2. I love the design, and I love "hump-less" knives, I wish Spyderco would make more of them

I am hoping the Production model has screw together design. That way it can be disassemble and easier and cheaper to get custom non-FG scaled made for it.

I really love the design :D this Spydie gonna be awesome, i really curious about the price tag, cause i want two :eek: Its close to perfect for me.

Production of this sprint is a little different in that this run has full skeletonized liners, 4way clip, Full flat grind.

I understand that we are very close to shipping. I don't have the scheduled delivery date, but it won't be too long.
